Based on the answers that I provided and what I wanted, I did not get what I wanted. The color was so much darker than what I wanted and in my opinion did not compliment my skin tone at all. It actually played down my skin tone. I have had way better results from box color bought from a drugstore. The instructions were confusing and the only reason for the 2 stars that I rated were for the smell. It smells amazing!

Das Produkt war sehr schön verpackt. Die Beschreibung vorzüglich.
Die Farbe fiel wesentlich dunkler aus. Deshalb würde ich eine Farbe heller wählen.
Leider habe ich vermutlich die Inhalsstoffe nicht vertragen und ich hatte anschließend über mehrere Wochen starken Haarausfall. Durch die Einnahme von einem Vitamin B-Komplex wurde der Haarausfall gestoppt. Bis jetzt sind die Haare aber nach wie vor sehr ausgedünnt. Daher kann ich die Färbung für empfindliche Menschen nicht empfehlen.

Does not work well with grays

I used this is the past, before gray hair. Worked great back then, but now that I’m mostly gray under my color, I have two toned hair. Brown up top and black the rest of the way. Even, with that being said, my hair doesn’t feel damaged and is still feeling healthy, which is why I gave it three stars. Still feel like I look ridiculous.

I asked for a light subtle coppery/strawberry color and the dye I was sent made my hair much darker with no tones of red at all.

I asked for the same colour as in the pics I sent. I have very dark natural hair and it’s dyed red and the ends are pretty faded so quite light red. I like faded as it’s the only time I’ve ever had lighter hair. To note, my current red is red red. The dye I’ve been sent is plum. I didn’t realise this until it was developing in to a nice purple colour - I now have my unwanted very dark hair back with strong plum. Absolutely nothing like what I asked for. I’m just hoping it fades quickly and I can go back to my old dye :(

The first time I used my colour it was amazing but now it doesn’t seem anything like it.It doesn’t last as long before it fades I leave on the correct time use shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair but it still fades so fast

I LOVED the color I got the first time. I tried asking for that color back, but because I needed to change the folor of the roots to a little bit of darker color they told me they had to change the ends as well. I do not understand that!

Poor gray coverage, roots faded out to red, resulting in my having 3 colors of hair--gray roots after 2 weeks, then faded red, then brown. I have taken to wearing hats.

I took the quiz and told the company I have blonde hair with some brassy pieces I wanted to LIGHTEN. I received dark brown hair color and have completely messed up my hair. I don’t understand how they could get it so wrong. I have a wedding out of town this weekend and have to leave tomorrow and I just can’t wait to take pictures!!

Way too dark, way too brown, doesn't look at all like the photo I sent my "stylist" (which btw you don't get a designated person. I replied to the email sent by my alleged stylist, and someone else entirely replied, because it's just a Zendesk ticketing system of random support employees who probably have no experience in hair color at all). Thankfully I got the demi which in theory will wash out. I won't be trying this again.

Beware of eSalon's Poor Customer Service and Misleading Practices

I must express my extreme disappointment with eSalon's subscription service. After deciding to try their color plan, I quickly realized it wasn't for me and promptly requested a cancellation before the next charge. Despite this, I was still charged for an unwanted order, and the second shipment was on its way.
I reached out to their customer service, expecting a straightforward resolution, but their response was utterly unacceptable. Not only did they fail to acknowledge their mistake, but they also didn't provide any assurance that my returned item was received or processed for a refund.
eSalon's so-called "Color Care Team" offered no sympathy for their error, instead suggesting I keep the unopened color for an indefinite period. Why should I keep something I never wanted in the first place?
The worst part is their slow refund process, claiming it may take up to 10 days after receiving the return to issue the refund. This is an outrageous delay for an item I never ordered and returned promptly.
I'm deeply dissatisfied with eSalon's lack of accountability, misleading practices, and disregard for their customers' time and money. Their customer service has proven to be unhelpful and unresponsive, making me regret ever trying their service.
I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of eSalon's subscription service, as they do not value their customers' satisfaction and employ questionable business practices. Save yourself the frustration and find a more reputable and customer-centric haircare provider.

I've been doing well with eSalon for a while but my most recent color turned out looking a little too light and washed out. I'm not sure if someone else mixed the formula but it was different from the usual color. I need a little more tone or something.

This product does not cover gray hair very well. I am very disappointed in this product. It’s too bad because my hair looks so shiny but the whole point if Cole ring my hair is to cover my gray hair.

After being a longtime subscriber to a different at-home color service I decided to compare. I loved the packaging and the cute little touches, such as the sticker to hang up the directions. The directions however were confusing, the color smelled awful and the process was messy. "Dumping the color bowl" over my head in the shower was strange and made a huge mess. The bottom line was my grays did not get covered at all and the overall color was blah. I wanted to love it but had to color my hair again with a different brand. It's a no for me.

The color was initially spot on!! 3-4 weeks later my hair was exactly the same color I started with. I wash my hair twice a week so I can just imagine how quickly the color would fade out for someone that washes their hair more often.

My color seems to be off this time. It is a darker color than what I originally ordered. The product seemed off this time. I had some extra in the bottle and it expanded in the bottle. There was a mess in my sink from it bubbling out of bottle.

I send a picture ( I have, well had red hair) and it was completely off. my roots look dark brown and my ends look purple ish. So dissatisfied. I reached out and never heard back for a solution or refund.

I was really excited to try this again but was left unsatisfied. Color was pretty at first but somehow it lightened my roots instead of darkening and did not cover the few greys I have. Not happy with my results.

Amazon just got sued for making it too difficult to cancel membership. Your website does not have any clear instructions or place to cancel membership altogether and I’m going to file a better business bureau report for this. I don’t care how great a product is, if I can not easily navigate my account it is a red flag you do not stand by your products because you make customers jump through hoops or give up and more product gets shipped even if it’s not wanted at all.

When I dye my hair I don't want to read a book I want step 1 step 2 ect. Then i tried to read and needed a magnifying glass I read and read to see how long to leave the dye on hair and never found it then I opened the wipe to get off excess and it left white foam so I didn't know what was color and what wasn't so I used my own Seabreeze and why would you waste time with a "let me hold that sticker". Wow I am never gonna order again this was a waste.

I am only one day in but basing my reviews on my initial reaction. My first observation....MESSY. the third process is sooooo messy. i stood in the white shower, pouring the water filled leftovers on my head and kept looking around at all the red dye that was going everywhere in the shower. the walls, the knobs, the shelves, the foor. it almost gave me so much anxiety wondering if it was going to come out. Phew, it did tho. That's nice to know if ever use it again. Second observation....after using Overtone for years, the smell of E salon was overwhelming....at points, it made me tear up bc the ammonia was so strong. Makes me question what i just put in my hair. Third observation, the color is very dull and my roots came out a lot lighter than my hair.
I'm the type of person that can pretty much roll with anything....i've been almost every color, every length. So I'm not totally against trying it again but feel like i may switch back to overtone for the health of my hair.

I ordered the custom care kit but changed my mind about coloring my hair myself. Since I asked for the kit to be custom-made for me I didn't pursue getting a refund. I had no idea that I had signed up for a continuing subscription until I received a second coloring kit in the mail and saw that it had been charged to my bank account. When I called eSalon to explain that I was not aware that I was signing up for a continuing subscription, the agent told me to take the kit to the post office, mark the package refused, and it would be returned to eSalon and I would get my refund. That sounded kind of sketchy to me but I didn't think I had any alternative but to followed those directions. Well, when I tracked the package today I learned that the post office had disposed of the package, that it couldn't be delivered to or wasn't accepted by eSalon. I did check my esalon account today and it doesn't appear that I'm still enrolled in the continuing subscription but who knows.

The only thing that dyed was my ends which were a lighter color then my roots. So now I have brown roots prolly around 2 inches and then red length. I followed the directions to a T and still didn't work!

I sent in pictures of the color I used to have, which was not achieved by highlights nor stripping, simple dye (I could not figure out or remember what color I used). Along with current photo. I wound up with dark hair, I imagine they looked at my roots only. I’m back to square one, and color does not fit complexion which makes skin more ruddy and aged looking. My hair is very fine, so highlights at this point would be out of the equation.

I used both bottles and the color was not as pictured and I followed directions to the "T". I even left the color on a little longer than it said. Now my hair is unbelievably dry and brittle and I can barely get a brush through it. 10 more minutes isn't going to ruin it like that. This has completely ruined my hair!

Good price, presentation etc. however my hair was 2 colors (dark brown from the top but lighter about halfway down) because I dyed it previously and left the roots to grow out for ages. Anyway, I wanted my hair to be dark brown and I added pics/explanation that I wanted my hair to be one color all over. The hair dye is nice but my hair is still lighter at the bottom and darker at the top so not really useful.

I asked for a color that wasn't yellow or brassy and i got a color that was a yellow blonde. Thought I was getting a beige blonde but it wasn't. I cancelled auto ship. Will get a color from Sally's.

This hair color was supposed to be a blond color, a correction after they messed up the first time and just copied my natural red hair color. Again, wrong color. No blonde, just the same red hair coloring. I don't think this company should be in business. They don't listen to you, accuse you of lying then say they'll make it right and do it all over again. Please don't waste your money here. You are better off cooling it yourself or at a salon, unless you like the headache and heartache they offer up here.

This did not cover my grays. It also go really hot and started foaming. The bottle would have exploded if I didn't notice. Other than that I liked the product.

I ordered the following color: Hair Color 6.4 Light Golden Copper Brown
What I received was a light Red Blonde that made my color Orange. I had to contact a hair stylist to correct the color. I will NEVER order from this company again. 6.4 is NOT Light Redish Blonde. I've Canceled my Auto shipment and will return any orders that are sent to me and I'm requesting a full credit. Bad, Bad, Bad!

I really wish it had worked for my hair, as I saw many compliments about the brand, but it didn't, it didn't cover gray hair as I thought it would, and it left my hair too dry.

Leider ist das Ergebnis kein bisschen wie erwartet, bestellt war ein aschiges Dunkelblond und geliefert wurde aschiges Hellbraun. Ich habe nach der durch e-salon geänderten Farbwahl noch einmal telefonisch nachgefragt, ob das wirklich eine gute Idee ist, aber es wurde mir so versichert. Bei der Versprechung einer individuellen Beratung stelle ich mir vor, dass ein Profi mir sagt, das bei meinem vorherigen Gelbblond das Färben mit einer Farbe, die blau enthält, keine gute Idee ist, weil sie dann grünlich wird, das ist eigentlich sehr einfach. Ich hoffe, dass ein guter Friseur das wieder hinbekommt, im Moment bin ich jedenfalls total unglücklich, was aus meinen schönen Haaren geworden ist.

Thank you for taking the time to try and match my hair colour. I’ve left reviewing the last purchase to see how it turns out first. Sadly, my hair is still very red, bordering on orange. From previous experience I know this will be difficult to get rid of so I am cancelling all future orders so my hair can get a chance to grow out.

I am not sure why it came out really brassy right after I applied.
I was late in dying my hair waited a month after I received my shipment. Did it expire on me?
Now that it's been like 4 weeks since I dyed my hair, it looks horrible. It's extremely dry, brassy, and way to light as it fades.

I will be returning this shipment tomorrow for several reasons. The color was not in the box and Im pretty sure that I removed the shampoo/conditioner off of the auto ship. And the price of $54 uuhh yeah NO! A huge NO! I understand the price but if what was included in the box was correct I won't be coloring my hair no more. I realize that it kinda late as I just opened the box today. Sometimes life gets busy. I was so surprised at the way the product were just thrown in the box. Huge difference from the 1st shipment that was put together with care. I was going to color my hair tonight however that will have to wait for obvious reasons. This review is in no way reflective of my 1st use of esalon. Only for the May 25 shipment for reasons as stated above. I tried to leave a review for Mar shipment it was not offered.
Update: 29 Jun 2023 response to automated reply from CS. Nobody has contacted me nor is working with me about issues stated above. I have not received any email regarding my review nor about last shipment missing the color. I'm unsure what your looking at in my profile, but I can assure you that nobody is or has been "working" with me.

I TRIED THIS ONE TIME AND IT SAYS GUARANTEED 100% COVERS GREY MINE DIDNT LAST MAYBE 3 WEEKS AND THEN THEY SEND ME ANOTHER ONE FOR 27.99 WHICH I DIDNT ORDER AND THEN I GOT ANOTHER
. 3 TIMES THEY TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY BANK.. YET YOU CANT CANCEL ANYWHERE SO I'M CONTACTING MY BANK TO STOP THIS I HAVE SENT I BACK TODAY 4 A REFUND WE'LL SEE BUT I CAN'T SEND OTHER 1 BACK AS THEY ONLY GIVE U 30 DAYS TO SEND IT BACK SO IM STUCK WITH 1.. I WONT USE BUT I'M GOING TO SEE IF I CAN AS ITS NEVER BEEN OPENED SO E.SALON BUCK YOURE IDEAS UP ADD A REFUND PAGE AND CHANGE TO 60 DAYS BACK AND NOT 30 DAYS... RANT AND RAGE OVER
