Color Not Accurate

This is my second time using eSalon. The kit is high quality and has everything you need. My initial color was Dark Brown (Neutral) and it was pretty accurate and performed well although it faded quickly, but since I have pink ends I requested a reddish brown instead. The second box I received had Red Pearl added to the dark brown. I was excited to try it, but once I had applied the color and washed it out there was absolutely no reddish tone to it and anywhere I had white hairs (I'm over 50% white hair as my profile reflects), it was a super light brown. Definitely not the color I wanted. I'm not happy with this color and I'm probably going to request to go darker for adequate coverage even though I don't want very dark hair.

My hair is currently a nice brassy shade of orange/red....never wanted red, never asked for it. 3 colors later and they still can’t seem to get it right. I tried to give ample chance. I suppose you get what you pay for! Waiting on a professional to correct my now ugly, damaged hair.

This product arrived three weeks after I ordered and was no longer useful to me. Additionally, the product was not sufficient to color my hair, and against my will they placed me on auto ship which caused me to have to contact customer service and waste several hours of my time. Additionally I had to pay for shipping for items which I didn’t order.

Obwohl ich mich genau an die Anleitung gehalten habe, hat mein Haar die Farbe überhaupt nicht angenommen.
Süß war, dass die Produkte personalisiert verschickt werden, aber wenn die Farbe nicht hält, nützt mir auch mein Name auf der Verpackung nichts.

I wonder if something can be done to add potency (don't know the right word)--my greys are showing too quickly. When I get color touchups at the salon, they generally last about a month. eSalon lasted about 2.5 weeks. I do like the depth (also don't know if that's the right word)--color is not flat--it has different hues which is what I like.

this color has been very disappointing. This is my 2nd attempt. My first attempt the color was prettier, but it just didn't cover my grays well. I'm 33 and I don't want to look so gray so I tried a reformulation and the gray hairs are yellow this time. The rest of my new growth has tons of red tones, which I hate

roots colored but rest of hair did not take the 2nd bottle for some reason. the bottle for the roots looked more purple than the other bottle. I found it messy seemed that the liquid wasn't as thick as other brands I have tried in the past.

This is the third box of color I have received. I was thrilled with how my color turned out with shipment #2. Tonight I died my hair with my latest shipment and my hair is almost black. Way to dark. I am so disappointed and upset with how it looks. Any tips to help soften the color would be greatly appreciated.

Despite trying to contact my estylist to say that I wasn’t happy with the colour I am yet to get a reply by email. I also sent a DM by Instagram and again no reply. I have cancelled my subscription to get an email to say my next colour is on the way. This concerns me as having worked in the customer service sector for nearly 20 years I know that communication is vital in providing good customer service.

All bad at home a disaster.
Granted your site trying best. I asked for lighter but got darker. I asked for lighter. In the kit I got 3 gloves...? .
The actual kit ok..just the color.
My roots growing out lighter. No greys.
And then trying to charge me again. NO WAY
I talked with a colorist took pics of myself...asked for a shade lighter. A previous dye 4 months out not mine. I just wanted lighter like mine.
Ok, I could have stripped the previous color but, growing out a short bob no issue.
Got the shipment used as described. No change...actually darker. Texture the same.
I’m angry not only I disagree then you try to charge me 27

Schrecklicher Rotstich!

Die von eSalon gesendete Farbe (mittelblond) wurde nach Anweisung aufgetragen und verwendet. Das Ergebnis ist schrecklich und ganz und gar nicht zufriedenstellend. Der Rotstich hat sich noch intensiviert. Offensichtlich sind der Farbe zuviele Rotpigmente zugegeben worden. Auch ist eine 20 %ige (=> 12%) Wasserstoffperoxid-Lösung für meine feines Haar viel zu viel.
Dass es auch anders geht, sieht man an dem unteren Teil der Haare, die eine angenehme mittelblonde Farbe aufweisen und vom Friseur behandelt wurden.
Besonders schwerwiegend ist, dass dies das zweite mal in Folge ist, dass das Ergebnis so schlecht ausfällt. Dies sollte eine Verbesserung des ersten eSalon Versuches sein.

I didn't know that you had to keep the brush from the first order. When I called to inquire, esalon said they would be happy to send me one with my next order. Why not just send a brush today so I can color my hair this week? Okay color, but lousy customer service!

When I called to cancel they tried to convince me that I would lose my discount. The color was very off and made my hair very orange and did not stay more than 2 weeks. Thanks for trying

Followed instructions and still roots are at least 2 shades lighter than the ends. After a week of applying the color they got even lighter. The ends are very dark.

The color was beautiful at first but after one wash it faded. It also didn’t cover my grays because my formula was switched to 15 vol. for no apparent reason.

This pack was missing a few things; 1. The extra set of gloves (pack only came with 1 pair), 2. The shampoo and conditioner.
Normally there are no problems but either the pack or the packaging failed to provide me with a clear indication as to what I should expect with this shipment.

I think e-salon is a great concept, and everything works, from the delivery (I like being able to choose the intervals), to the simple packaging and easy-to-follow instructions. Customer service is great as well. My first attempt was admittedly a bit clumsy, but I managed to get the job done. People who are sensitive to ammonia odours may want to take note that the smell of the developer is repulsive and overwhelming - do your mixing and application with a window open! The colour was in the right ball-park, but veered a bit too cool, so I requested an adjustment on my next order. Everything leading up to and including application has gone perfectly fine.
My main issue is what has happened to my hair since starting with the e-salon product. Initially the colour looked fine, but the texture of my hair went downhill pretty quickly. It became dry, fly-away, straw-like, and any bounce or body that I formerly had is completely gone. My hair simply hangs there now, regardless of what products I use (discontinuing the e-salon shampoo & conditioner helped improve things a bit). Another issue I have had is the way the colour changes as it fades. I wouldn't mind if it simply became less intense - that's normal. But instead the gold undertones in my shade slowly change to a very peculiar shade of brassy orange. Not having used other home colouring products, I have no frame of reference as to how this would compare to others, but I'm not blown away.
Colour is just so/so. Dismayed by my hair's texture.

Color had a slight red tint. Within two weeks my color turned a bright red. I even told my colorist that my hair pulls red to add ash color to neutralize the red in my hair. I did like the color the first week then my color just faded to bright red. I use professional shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. So that wasn’t the problem.

This last color did exactly what I expressed I did not want.
The previous color was fine and then I requested to go lighter.
Well, that evidently was not do-able because as mentioned, I'm back to square one,
trying to get rid of the reddish/golden tones.

The color didn't cover all the grays. After application and my hair drying the grays around my ears was not covered. I paid close attention to this area since I know these grays are stubborn but the color didn't take.
Also it has been a week. I have avoided swimming pools, and only washed my hair twice since I dyed it and the color is fading at my roots, and it's not root growth.

The product arrived covered in dye fingerprints and was sticky as if it had been handled without gloves when formulated. Even the instructions had dye fingerprints all over. The dye bottles also did not fit in the poorly designed packaging so had been rolling about within the box.
Nonetheless I thought I'd ignore that issue and give it a try. I followed the directions exactly.
The product left my hair feeling like it was covered in sticky wax, I freaked out thinking it had melted my hair off. I had to wash 5 or 6 times and in the end resorted to fairy liquid to remove the greasy waxy texture, and even then it still felt sticky and nasty for weeks. Whenever I touched my hair I could feel stickyness, and it looked greasy at the roots and underneath even when freshly washed.
As for the colour, I was very upset. The root formula turned my roots bright ginger, and the main colour turned my blonde hair patchy dark auburn which was much darker and redder than the colour I selected. I wanted a copper blonde as per the photo but it looked nothing like that. The patchyness became worse after a few washes as some areas fade
I spent several weeks trying to repair the colour thank goodness I was in lockdown and nobody had to witness me looking so awful. My hair suffered a lot of damage in the process and it took several appointments to correct the colour by a professional. It still is not completely even and has lighter patches where the root colour had been applied, but I was told my hair cannot withstand any further dying at this point and I have to now leave it to recover.
I would not recommend this service, it ruined my previously butt length blonde hair and I had to cut most of it off because I couldn't cope with the tangling and matting and dryness it caused. Even with hair repair masks and leave in conditioner the texture is permanently damaged and I'm waiting for it to grow out healthy again which took me years to get it to this length and now I've lost most of it

Firstly, I choose my hair colour from the options and added a photograph.
The colour was darker than what I wanted !!!! Esalon said to use colorb4 to strip it back.(not good with extra dry curly hair). The next colour which I changed, still dark brown not copper. I changed it again third time unlucky. This had been changed but was a roots only refresher. Why would I put a copper colour on my roots when the rest was red/brown.
Rubbish they don't listen to the customer at all. Very expensive and not a colour I would buy again. £24 after initial 1st. I got £18 back but no £6 for p+p.!!! It was always late up to 2kg parcel is £3.10p half the price they charge. It was 48 hour postage but had to wait a week extra for it to be posted. So just £3.10 was a like for like better option Rip off.
A supermarket colour is equally better, and you get what it says on the box liberally think befor you join

The color was a good match for my roots. I didn't use the color on all of my hair. The product is pretty thin - nowhere near as thick as the color the salon uses. It also didn't last as long. I color my roots every 4 weeks - I barely made it 3 weeks with this. The towel they include does actually get the excess product off your skin. The shampoo and conditioner were good.

The kit is good and the colours well mixed, the roots colour blended seamlessly with the ends colour. My hair is healthy and shiny. However, their violet tone colour isn't the neutral tone shown on the website, it's a very warm, reddish cherry purple. It's not an ugly colour and it suits my neutral-tone skin and green eyes, but it isn't what I was looking for.

My hair is really dry after coloring; my edges did not take, my grays are standing out. I don't know what is needed to fix this. I want to upload a picture so my color care person can let me what adjust or conditioners needed to fix this.

Been trying for 2 days to contact esalon thru the support link but it wont let me send you the info. order #4354636 My order arrived damaged and unusable. The bottle of developer leaked out inside the box. What was left inside the bottle did not even go up to the writing on the bottle that show the size in ounces. I put 2 pics on my profile for you to review. This was VERY disappointing! I desperately needed to color my hair and ended up going to CVS on Saturday and buying a box of hair color after paying for this. I ordered it on June 24th and received it on June 27th, I even paid the extra $5.00 for the fast processing and shipping. Please let me know what can be done to remedy this situation.

I read the instructions carefully before coloring my hair and followed them exactly. The product and process were very messy and my hair color barely changed at all. Plus, at one point in process, the instructions say to use a fresh pair of gloves but only one pair was included in the kit. Will not use this product again.

Ridiculous. Autoship doesn’t help. It takes basically three weeks to receive anything. Switching to another company. Also, way too much single use plastic. Flood the oceans with your unnecessary packaging for generations and generations and generations to come.

This turned my hair bright orange in my root and did absolutely nothing to ends. They look the same. It smelled awful and my hair feels so dry and damaged. I would not use again. The color formulation sounded right and had no orange or copper in it but it turned my hair bright copper orange. I hate it and am currently redoing it to my cool toned red ruby color.

I asked for gentle highlights for my blonde hair.
Got sent a block colour that I won’t use.
I had three email exchanges which I asked about highlights vs dye and was ignored and just sent my kit.
Also invested in the tools to do it properly and obviously now a waste of money as won’t use a dye that isn’t what I asked for.
Formulaic service that doesn’t tailor to what you ask for which isnt how this was advertised.

My purple color was a disappointment as if came out copper!!! It was also extremely subtle. But my hair felt soft and not damaged.

I specifically said I wanted to cover gray hair, but this hair color did not do that. Also sent a picture, so the colorist could guide herself and the color I received made my hair color darker. I followed the instructions, just went over 1 minute of what is instructed. I'm dissapointed, not sure if I will reorder. One good thing is that the color doesn't dry your hair, had high hopes, but it didn't work as I expected!

2 different colors

Roots are lighter than the rest of my hair. The same thing happened with my previous order. I informed the colorist prior to the new hair color being sent. I’m not sure why the formula is made lighter on the roots and darker on the ends when new hair growth takes hair color easier and stronger than your ends. Thanks but I’ll be going back to box dye for now.

Great service, I loved the individuality of it all, but the colour you arranged for me was horrible. It was the worst colour I've ever had my hair. I had to dye over it with a dark brown a couple days later. It's a shame, because I really liked the idea of it. Maybe I'd use you again, but this time I'll pick the shade myself.

Was initially very pleased with the colour and covering. However after only 2 weeks my grey was showing through and not from regrowth. It had been applied correctly and i used their colour shampoo and conditioner. I have sent an email asking if my colour can be adjusted and they said yes. Hopefully the next one will do a better job of covering the grey until my next dye is due.

I haven't colored my hair in a year (which was done by a professional colorist at professional salon and matched my natural hair color previously). I used your product and my hair turned a bright orange tint at the root nonetheless... I won't be using your product.

Ich hatte mir die auch bestellt. Die gewünschte farbe kam nicht zu stande. Es hat übelst nach Ammoniak gestunken. Die Haare wurden stumpf und total strohig. Nach vielem auswaschen der Haare, war der Geruch immer noch in den Haaren... Kopfschmerzen hatte ich ständig.... Mein Arzt wusste am ende auch nicht wovon die stammten... bis ich am ende meine haare nochmal mit was anderem gefärbt hatte, war komischer weise die kopfschmerzen weg.

The one box I used was too light And did not cover all of my gray.
The second box, I did not know I was getting, will be thrown out. Plus it took me a while to figure out how to cancel the monthly subscription I was not aware I signed up for.
My hair salon is back open. Thank Goodness!!

I got this product to dye my hair my natural color and cover some grays as well as even out some old box color. This stuff, the ammonia first of all IS HARSH. It’s a day later I’ve washed my hair 3 times since coloring and it’s still SO STRONG. Additionally, I ordered dark brown. My hair is PITCH BLACK and I didn’t even leave it in for the full 30 min. Plus my hair feels like legit straw. Customer service is great but I will never use this product again nor do I recommend it. My hair was so healthy before this I’m so upset. And the ammonia is irritating so badly not only me but my boyfriend. DO NOT USE.

Leider war die Farbe auch nach Anpassung überhaupt nicht anders als vor der Anpassung.
Laut Angabe wurde die Rezeptur zwar geändert, gezeigt hat sich das an meinen Haaren nicht.
Ich hatte mir mehr versprochen. Deshalb gehe ich doch lieber wieder zum Friseur.

This product doesn’t cover grays like it says it should. I was using my hair dye from sallys. Only reason I tried this is because my sisters hair looked amazing. Not so good results on me.

Not as I expected

I followed the instructions very carefully as I did not want any mistakes, however, once I had washed out the color after the 30 minute wait time I have pink hair at my roots ! I am so upset.
I usually go to a salon but with the COVID, I was desperate to do something with my hair, but using your product has shown me that I should have waited for m salon to reopen.
