The only thing I would have done differently is to leave the color on a full 30 minutes. I have a lot of gray and it wasn't quite long enough with the 15-20. But the color and feel are GREAT.

Wish grey coverage was slightly better but realize with a semi permanent there's no guarantee. Colour is so shiny. Hair feels amazing, so soft.

The colour did not come out the way it was presented

Because i have troubled hair with a silicon coating from all the wrong shampoos i have used i switched to silicone free shampoo. I did this because colour does not stick to my hair. After 30 washes it was out and i painted my hair with the colour i ordered. I was informed that the purple would not be a "screaming" purple but a brown colour with a purple sheen to it when the sun hits it. Im ok with that. Unfortunatly after painting my hair it was just brown. There is not 1 hair brown with a purple sheen. Im very dissapointed.
EDIT 20-12-2019 - I spoke with my colourist within 1 day after the review and got 1 credit free for a new colour. After ordering it I got an email with the request to upload a photo of the current colour after painting it. about 4 hours after sending the picture I got a new colour. They have changed the recipe just for me and I could not be more happy with this service. I am very happy that they responded so quickly with the best solution. I cannot wait to repaint my hair in 5 weeks. Keep up the good work! :)

It took a bit to find the right color, and im Still working to get what I’d want, but I’ve also gotten lots of compliments on my hair. Its also the first time I’m consistently dyeing it but it hasn’t seemed to change my texture, which is great.

I had been using eSalon Medium Ash Brown because even though I have medium brown hair, I also have a red cast especially on the top in the sun & Ash helps cut red. I have a little gray on top, which is very stubborn & really hard to cover. In fact, I still had grays popping through & a red cast. I talked to eSalon before I ordered again & explained what problems I was having & she suggested changing to Medium Brown & they would also make other changes to the neutralizer etc... to help with the red cast & the stubborn grays. Well, I colored my hair & am happy to say I have NO GRAYS showing through. The overall color is a little lighter than I was hoping for. I didn't see red showing through, but I do see lighter brown & I'm using the Toner Mask every other time I shampoo (with color safe shampoo & conditioner) so I'm hoping I don't see red come back as time goes on, because I noticed my hair is lighter brown after one shampoo & condition (for treated hair) & Toner Mask which was recommended to me instead of Tint Rinse.

I really loved this until my last 2 deliveries. It turned my hair a bit reddish, I sent my colorist a message for the next delivery and was told it was adjusted. The same think happened. I just received my most current delivery and will try it this weekend and see if anything has changed. If not, I will not be ordering again.

I love my color and the way my hair feels after using your product, but I find that my gray hairs at my temples seem to come out after only two or three weeks. I am using a shampoo for colored hair so I am just going to try to leave the color on that area longer next time I use your product.

The color came out great. My hair felt healthier AFTER I colored it. But my color did fade. I had Mahogany Brown. It still looks good but I did lose that "POP" it had when I initially did it.

I tried eSalon since moving further away from the stylist that I used to love. I thought it was really easy and simple to do at home and didn't make the mess that I remember dyeing my hair at home sometimes did. The color was a little darker than I thought but it grew on me after a few days.

It took a little tweaking because first few times I felt my color started to go brassy. I discussed with color specialist and went a tad darker and occasionally used the tint rinse. Light Sets became available and really gave a professional look to my hair. It let me go lighter without any brassiness. I color about every 6 weeks and highlight every few months

I'm still impressed with eSalon products. I think I waited a bit too long between colorings. However, I can't believe how well or how long the dye lasted. (8+ weeks) And I didn't have a lot (length) of gray showing. It seems the color faded all over...so when I followed the directions to only concentrate on my roots, then massage the rest in as I showered...I don't feel I got as good of a coverage over all as the first time. However, it gave the effect of having some highlights. I've had several compliments. So, I'm ok with it.
I tried the shampoos and leave in conditioner. Very pleased with them all.

A natural born redhead to the mother of a woman / "beautician" who as a single parent in the 50's had a beauty shop in our home! Unfortunately, I lost Mama Harriett when I was in my 30's and way before I had to start coloring my hair! When that day came, (when even my then teenage kids told me I should color my hair!), I picked up a box of Clairol Medium Auburn and that's what I used for years before I became dissatisfied with the drabness of my color after just a few weeks of coloring. I decided it was time for a change and grabbed a box of Clairol Medium Garnet...the results of which I'll spare you the details but guarantee HARRIETT was rolling over in her grave,,, LAUGHING!
I was in a huge hurry after I got out of the shower that morning and shocked myself when I looked in the mirror...I tried everything to get the dark stain off my skin on my eyebrows to no avail. I had an appointment with a new client I was following to their home from the hospital and could not be late. I threw on my strategically placed (to cover eyebrows) cool Olive Green Fedora and "owned it"... for two weeks! When I finally had the nerve to go out in public without the Fedora, my son-in-law was the first to ask if that's why I'd been wearing a hat while my daughter scrambled to call a shop to "get me fixed".
Quite frankly, my fear was that living on social security, I could not afford $140+ to color my hair each time and told my daughter the only way I would go to a shop was if they agreed to give me the formula.
$400 later, they gave me the formula alright but I didn't have a way to purchase the Professional Wella they were using without a license!! Finally, over a year later I learned about and contacted eSalon. I was able to give them my formula, which they duplicated and the rest is history!! it was like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders...THANK YOU ESALON...I LOVE YOU!!

Ich habe leider immer einen Rotstich in meinen Haaren gehabt durch Drogeriefarbe. Ich habe ihn gehasst. Er hat einfach nicht zu meinem Hautton oder sonstigem gepasst. (Da ich sehr helle und rosane haut habe).
Ich habe von Brad Mondo (einer meiner lieblingsyoutuber) hier von gehört und wollte es mal ausprobieren.
Ich habe mich also für einen Braun-Ash-Ton entschieden und mit angegeben dass ich meinen Rotstich unbedingt loswerden möchte.
Es hat ungefähr 1 1/2 Wochen gedauert bis die Farbe bei mir eingetroffen ist. Das Design finde ich sehr süß und auch dass so viel Mühe und Herz reingesteckt wird.
Ich habe vorher übrigens noch eine Nachricht meines Coloristen bekommen, welcher meine Farbe individuellisiert hat, da er fand mein ausgesuchter Ton sei zu dunkel für mich.
Damit war ich einverstanden und wollte einfach mal vertrauen.
Die Anwendung ist dies selbe wie bei Drogeriemarke. Mischen von 2 Komponenten und dann (hier anders) eine individuelle Anleitung. Diese habe ich befolgt.
Die Farbe hat bei weitem nicht so gestunken, wie die aus der Drogerie. Wahrscheinlich, weil hier ein niedrigerer Entwickler benutzt wird (was sehr gut für die haare ist).
Nachdem meine Haare dann geföhnt waren, war ich zuerst überrascht wie dunkel die haare sind.
Einen leichten Rotstich kann ich noch erkennen (wahrscheinlich aber auch entweder durch das braun oder durch meine warm-gelbe Zimmerlampe.)
Im großen und ganzen bin ich aber sehr sehr zufrieden. Die farbe ist sehr toll und ich war noch nie so zufrieden mit meiner Haarfarbe.
Meine Haarfarbe hat jetzt einen kühlen Ton und die haare sehen so gesund aus! Sie glänzen und fühlen sich sehr gepflegt an.

I was pleased to see my color come out evenly and fully covered my white hair. The color was lovely; however, after about 3 washes it started fading rapidly. Not sure if I will continue ordering.

It was a little darker than I think I wanted. Also, I don't like that there is a color for roots and ends. I understand the reason for it, but I want an all over color that I can re-do every couple of months.

enfin une couleur qui me va et qui me permet de ne pas faire de mèches car toujours trop foncé. je suis bluffée. bien que je trouve le prix un peu élevé, je ne changerai plus. merci

I'm a hard case. My originally black hair is now snow-white, and it's very coarse and wavy, and it tends to get very dry and frizzy if I don't keep it well-conditioned. I now dye it a dark brown, but I usually get hot roots no matter how careful I am. My white hair just doesn't take color well, and it's nearly impossible not to overlap previously colored hair with dye (for me, anyway). So I get lighter roots unless I dye it all jet black, and I'm afraid my goth years are long over. To top it all off, my skin is kind of sensitive and dye often burns my scalp. I've had to rinse dye out before it set because my scalp couldn't take it.
The color didn't burn my scalp (yay!), and for once my regrowth actually blends in with the rest of my hair. I've only had that happen before when I visited the salon, where my stylist is brilliant but color is expensive. Anna, my ESalon colorist, actually managed to blend something that colored my white roots a nice dark brown. Go Anna! You can tell your boss that I said you were awesome. I've thought of lightening my hair by one shade, and I'd feel confident about asking you for advice.
I also appreciated the detailed instructions in the package and online. Points to your content department.
I'd have given this purchase five stars, but one little thing bothers me. I felt there was a bit of overpackaging for the sake of presentation in my order. I'd rather receive a package that wasn't quite so pretty and didn't use molded plastic. I imagine the small tubes of shampoo and conditioner save ESalon money, but I appreciated that they weren't plastic bottles. If ESalon would cut back on the plastic, I'd feel much better about future purposes. I realize this is a problem with pretty much any home hair color, but I'd feel better about my purchases if ESalon used more sustainable packaging. As it was, I felt a tiny twinge of guilt and considered ordering less often to minimize waste.

Première commande de couleur, première couleur réalisée par moi même. Couleur très couvrante, qui correspond parfaitement à ce que je souhaitais. Je n'hésiterais pas à recommander. D'ailleurs j'ai pris l'abonnement !

I love the fact that I can color my hair myself and get good results. I use the ends refresher and root touch everytime.
The only problem is now the difference between roots and ends are off color. Ends are more purple where roots are coppery.... not sure how to fix this.

I have been using this for awhile now and it seems to lose something as time goes on. My colour seems to wash out sooner every time and there is less good results as far as moisturizing, My hair seems to be getting drier and colour fading before the next set arrives, even tho' I only use the shampoo and colour tint and conditioner and do not use other products at all

Vielleicht wäre es möglich die nächste Haarfarbe etwas mehr ins bräunliche zu mischen,eventuell Rehbraun?Aber nur sehr wenig von dem Braun dazu mixen,so das die Haare weiterhin blond.

I really liked my red color. It faded after 4 weeks, but it is pretty.
Update: I’m in love with my copper. Using the tint really helps when you’re dealing with reds. I Love that they are sending both root and ends. It really pulled my color together!

La couleur est très jolie, naturelle, par contre, j'ai été surprise de constater que les racines et longueurs sont plus foncées que sur la photo lorsque j'ai choisi la couleur.
Je pensais foncer mes cheveux petit à petit pour revenir à ma couleur d'origine (en plus joli) mais ils sont déjà bien foncés.
Sinon, c'est vraiment un joli châtain avec des reflets dorés.
J'attends de voir ce que ça va donner au prochain lavage.

I really do wish that you would make a hair dye that didn't have any harsh chemicals because I just found out the older I am that I break out role badd even with this that I have bought branded please try and work on something that has no chemical senate thank you

Excellent color and I love the way the color doesn’t fade for weeks. My only complaint is that my hair is a little more dry with this product even though I put a good moisturizer on it often.

The color is great. The coverage is great and lasts quite a while in my hair. The smell is horrific. I live in a house, with windows. If I lived in an apartment, with no windows, I couldnt use it. Wish the odor could be toned down a bit. But its really good color so I continue to use it.

Better than store bought in the sense that it did not dry my hair out. However, my root area (new growth) turned brassy after only a few days. I was disappointed in this. The packaging/ tools etc are great. Love the xtra set of gloves.

The color is great, leaves my hair feeling healthy. The only thing I don't like so much is that once I mix the color and developer it's almost too thick to come out of the bottle. I clip the tip off so it's bigger, but it's still difficult to get it to come out. Towards the end I take the top off and squeeze it out onto my hand and dip my finger in it. I don't like using the brush...too hard to manage on my own head.

Update...11/12/19...Gray roots already coming through after only 5 weeks...:(
My colorist chose to formulate a color a bit different than what I selected and I say let them do it! The color chosen for me is perfect with my skin and eyebrows. For sure send them at least one photo with your order. My first set came with 2 steps: one for roots and one for ends, which is something I have never seen before. The cape is wonderful...just like the ones at the salon. The gloves fit nice and snug like surgical gloves, unlike the cheap plastic ones that come with the cheap sets. Instructions are super easy to follow. The developer bottle has a removable cap instead of a snip off cap. The root system is super thick (almost to thick at times since I had to shake the bottle hard into the sink after each time I sat it back upright between sections) and stays exactly where you put it. No runs or drips. The ends system has a VERY strong chemical smell so would not want to do this very often. Step 3 of rubbing the leftover product through the hair, even into the scalp, is definitely different as drug store products say specifically not to do that. When all is completed, my hair is super soft, yet I still have my waves, that after cheap color, takes a week of adding curling products and sprays to get back. Am SUPER happy with this so far....now lets see how long my grays stay covered

Eine sehr gute Farbwahl wurde getroffen. Ich bin begeistert. Und es ist reichlich Farbe vorhanden trotz langem Haar. Früher hatte ich das Problem das mein grauer Ansatz immer heller blieb, egal wieviel Farbe ich drauf machte. Jetzt allerdings schaut es der Ansatz genauso aus wie die Längen, alles die gleiche Farbe. DANKE!
Einziges Manko es riecht beim auftragen ziemlich nach Ammoniak. Mir blieb fast die Luft weg. Ich denke das könnte man noch etwas verbessern.

The color was good. It colored all of my hair, which is saying a lot because I have really long hair and usually have to buy 2 boxes of store bought color. I liked the color, it's all evenly colored. The only thing I didn't like was how overwhelming the chemical smell was.

The custom color was pretty spot on but bright in the beginning. The color application was challenging to do myself. I have in the past done my own hair but never the roots then secondary color on the ends. It was overall a good experience.

I finally got brave and applied root color. had a lot of color left over...is that right?? Was I suppose to apply all of the color? I only applied to my roots. Was I suppose to color all over???

Esalon has definitely given me exactly what color I want each time. I have had some horrendous experiences (even in salons). They have been very receptive to my change requests as well. It always looks totally natural and I get tons of compliments. The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is the amount of plastic waste I have at the end. It comes in a box and inside the box are more boxes, bags and molded plastic for each product. I feel really bad about how much I am putting in a landfill because the plastic is not labelled for recycling, and there is a lot of it.

brought my color kit in for my stylist to apply. She uses a very high end Italian product normally. She was quite pleased with the color and the completeness of the kit. Only negative was that she felt it was too high in ammonia content.

It took 3 times to get my color right simply because my grays are as hard-headed as I am! When I gave up on the 2nd try of trying to get it right, customer service reached out and offered me one more try for FREE and clearly third times a charm cause now I'm feeling like JLo!

Aunque no me gustó el color contacté y me reemplazaron, aunque no me llegó el reemplazo contacté y me remplazaron. Todo lo que es atención al cliente excelente... En cuanto al tinte.... pues es de buena calidad, deja el pelo bien, sin quemarlo y el kit viene muy completo. En cuanto a lo que debería ser un color exacto, deja mucho que desear, tenia el peli casi rubio, por lo que pasarlo a castaño con mucho morado (como anunciaba el color) debía ser fácil, pues no. El primer tinte me dejo el pelo practicamente negro sin ni un solo tono de lila. El reemplazo, ya con una botella de lila a parte si, algo hizo, pero a los 4 lavados ya es cualquier cosa menos lo que pedia. En fin... aunque el trato y el producto bien, yo por mi parte me borro.

I appreciate a process where a stylist works with me to tweak my color. I’m now three weeks in and am just now starting to see the return of greys at my roots, which is not bad. I would have rated a 5, but I believe I requested the brush and bowl option last time yet received the bottle applicator. Still, loving the products and service!!

Well the color was beautiful; however it was just a little lighter than I was expecting and the coverage of my gray wasn't as good so will upgrade those things when I make my next order.
