Recently the colour fades extremely quickly on my grays. It acts like a semi-permanent rather than permanent colour. Such a shame, it was fabulous before!

Not very impressed with this product especially for grays. Purchased the shampoo/conditioner sold on here and witching a week the grey was showing again. Was told I needed to change the formula. So I did and same thing. For $30 I would hope I’d get atleast 3weeks coverage. Going back to doing my own. Hello Sally Beauty supply. Leaves hair feeling so so not super soft I was getting before. Just not for me

I agree with other reviews. I have been happily using this product for quite a while now but recently within two weeks my grays are showing through clearly, and I’m noticing poorer coverage even immediately after coloring. I thought it was me - I didn’t realize the formula had changed. A bit disappointed and will try another brand. If you don’t have grays, though, the product is easy to use and the classic shampoo and conditioner smell good and leave my hair looking healthy, shiny and moisturized.

Ich bin leider enttäuscht, komplett nach Anweisung alles gemacht ist zwar alles easy aber leider ist die Farbe nicht das was ich mir vorgestellt und im Internet gesehen habe und dann ist der Ansatz deutlich heller trotz der 15 Einwirkzeit. Bleibe dann doch lieber bei meiner alten Farbe

Sur la couleur, quelques modifications à faire mais l'avis général est positif.
Par contre, ayant indiqué des cheveux épais, j'étais juste niveau quantité (ayant l'habitude des colorations maison, je mets les bonnes quantités).
Pour ma seconde commande, on vient de m'envoyer la quantité pour racines uniquement (alors que le prix est le même que pour racines et longueurs). Etant blonde, j'ai besoin d'étirer sur les longueurs pour éviter le jaune. Bref, j'attends de voir la quantité à recevoir mais je suis un peu déçue. Déçue également d'avoir changer de coloriste: comment avoir une continuité de service et un échange constructif?

I followed the directions exactly, timed everything to a T, and my roots are ORANGE. It's going to cost me $325 for a color correction in a salon to fix this. I've been getting my hair colored in a salon for decades and thought I'd give this a try. I do NOT recommend it if you're going lighter. (I have dark blond/light brown hair and was trying to match my existing light blond color.)

I was so excited to try e SALON. I was so disappointed. There was nothing brilliant or radiant about it. All the photos I saw on line showed vibrant color. What I got was no different than a box color from Walmart! I feel very mislead.

Got my product and was really excited to try it but was suspect about the color so I did a strand test. Glad I did as the color was not close to blonde. I tried to email the company and go no response on the problem or request to cancel future shipments, so buyer beware!

Poor grey coverage. In addition, I made specific note prior to purchase that my hair tends to show more strawberry red tones after coloring and that is something I wanted to avoid. No one listened, and I have this aweful strawberry red hair now, until I recolor again with a different brand.

Like several other reviewers, I have noticed that the grey coverage isn’t as good as it used to be. Also, my color is oxidizing (going from dark brown to brassy orange) sooner than normal (with usual and consistent exposure to sun, which speeds up oxidation). I have loved esalon for years but I’m considering changing after my last few colorings.

I was hesitant to try your product although I have heard amazing reviews from podcasters. I haven't tried to color my hair at home in 25 years. I had a terrible result. But I take partial responsibility but also found the directions poorly done. First mistake, when asking "for your natural color hair", I completed the color choice chart, my natural color's lightest choice was SO dark that I bumped my self up to the least blondest of what seemed the right color. * I think in doing this I choose too light of a bleach and the results were penny copper. ** It was pretty horrifying. Another error is I felt like there was so much mixture that I didn't need to mix it all and put it all on my head. So I left some back. ** I should have mixed it all and only used what I needed. (this could be stated in the directions too) The final big misunderstanding came with the application. I was given a brush and instructions to choose to use the brush or apply directly to the hair. There was no further instruction as to why I would choose one over the other. Which tool is best for my desired results and how to use the brush tool. All and all the top of my head STILL is copper colored but tolerable and much less offensive and I learned a lesson.

I was so excited to get my color and try it out, but after I went through the whole process, there was literally no change at all on my hair. The roots were still grayish and the overall color didn’t change at all. It’s frustrating because I don’t want to over process my hair, so I’ll have to wait 8 more weeks before I try to fix it. It’s especially disappointing because I wanted something fresh for our anniversary, but it is just the same color with roots showing.

So unhappy, ordered a light brown mahogany copper colour, my hair was a bright copper beforehand. Turned it a dark red/brown, mucky looking. Devastated as it took so long to get my hair to that shade and now it's ruined and will cost me more money to fix. Would give zero stars if I could. Even the hair colour in the bottle was dark purple, I rechecked the colour over and over and all said "light brown mahogany/copper.

Edit to reply: No I haven't been helped or contacted by anyone. Disgraceful customer service. Minimum you could do is contact unhappy customers to refund them. The cost this will be to get fixed!!

Color that was sent did not cover all the greys, mostly on top. Turned a reddish tint, I guess I should of not gone with a little golden. My hair is really dry after coloring. Sent two, can't use the second one.

I have used E Salon for 5 yrs and never had any problems. The last 6 mos, I have been sent the wrong color formula. I have informed E Salon every time and they keep sending me the wrong color formula. It is labeled with the same color formula, but I am mahogany and the color formula has gone from dk brown to light yellow. This is the third time ….

I was disappointed when I colored my hair and still have gray hair right on my hair line which I saturated in color. I have black hair so it really shows and looks terrible. I am really disappointed, going to start my new job with gray hair popping out.

La coloration est jolie mais je m’attendais à plus de reflet bleu. Ils sont inexistants actuellement.

Very disappointed, after using this products.for a couple of years now, i have had 3 subsequent disasters. Contacting the team is terrible and team member very unhelpful and to make matters worse over charged me by £45 and insisted I required to send the my bank statements to prove the money had been taken and not returned .... money back guarantee.... total sham.... be careful folks

The roots colour has given me a band of light colour which is clearly visible along my parting, then ends colour isn’t copper like at all, it’s red/brown which has actually turned my lighter hair sections a Tully pinkish colour.

Hair turned pinkish at the roots

My hair at the roots actually turned a dark pink/mauve. Is there another recommendation for a custom color. I was a natural red head growing up, now turning white and can't find the right color in a box to get back to red so was going for a strawberry blonde but if that turns my hair pink, looking for another recommendation.

Stylist has not adjusted color per request for two orders. 20% red DOES NOT mean 1/20th red by volume. 5% red is not right. I want a change from blond copper to bright red, and the colorist is ignoring me. Bad customer service.

I was very excited to try esalon’s custom colour however it just didn’t deliver what it promised. Asked for a dark copper colour and have been given a flat, dull and dry maroon red colour. The process has left my hair in a state to which I’m not sure what to do with it. It’s just broken and dry and not the colour I asked for.

If you feel you have been losing significantly more than this, you may have had an allergic reaction. I ordered a color, the “colorist” changed it. I tried the color and didn’t like it. They claim 100% satisfaction but my two attempts to contact customer support have yet to be answered. Now I’m trying to figure out how to cancel, they don’t make it easy. Save your money and try another service.

I’ve been using r salon for many years. My roots always stayed the proper color until they grew out. Something has changed, it’s washing off Of the gray really easily now. Considering that over half of my hair is gray at this point that’s not going very well.
Please undo whatever change it was you made. My last few shipments just haven’t worked.

Color match is not good. One month it is red, next when I state I DO NOT want red they make it black. Terrible colorists! Now I haven’t even washed it once and the gray is showing and the grays are the ONLY reason I am using this. Totally disappointing!

I have been using esalon hair color for quite awhile now. Usually I love the results but yesterday when I did my hair, it covered my new growth fine but didn't cover my grays well at all. I did it the same as I always do according to the directions but for some reason in natural light especially I have alot of grays. Normally I love the end color.

Then greys started coming through again! I get better and longer coverage with ones I purchase for £7 in the supermarket. I would like a refund and to cancel any future orders.

This color does not cover my gray hair. Within 2 1\2 weeks the color has ready faded and i need to dye again.

It's not covering my grey's as I would like and the color doesn't last long. The color isn't quite as I would have liked as it's adding reddish tones to my roots when I would prefer it to be a neutral dark brown.

Impossible de vous envoyer un fichier pour commander la bonne couleur !
C'est dommage de ne pas montrer au client les couleurs (flacon 2) avant expédition alors que j'avais téléphoné pour demander explicitement la couleur que je voulais. Beaucoup de perte de temps. Dommage qu'on ne puisse pas vous envoyer de fichier PDF !

Ich wollte aus meinem Kupferrot ein Braun machen, bekam Mittelbraun mit Neutralisator zugeschickt... nach der Anwendung war ich super enttäuscht: das Rot scheint an vielen Stellen noch raus, der Rest der Farbe ist ein scheckiges Dunkelbraun-fast - Schwarz Gemisch der billigsten Sorte. Werde jetzt zur Drogerie müssen, um Farbe zu kaufen und hoffe, dass ich dieses Desaster retten kann.

I chose the medium brown shade expecting the colour to match my roots pretty well and cover up the blonde ends.
Unfortunately when I coloured my hair it came out almost black. It’s very very dark brown and I am definitely disappointed. I know it will fade over time, but it’s definitely not the colour I chose. I gave it two stars because aside from the colour, my hair feels very healthy and soft.

Tried this and wasn’t impressed. It didn’t colour my grey which is what I wanted to hide. I did like the colour on the highlighted parts of my hair but not in my natural hair colour it turned my hair a ginger colour.

definitely deposited color, but it’s fading every time i wash it. and it’s much lighter than it looks in the picture. i actually kind of like it, but it’s not what i thought i was buying — and ill definitely have to dye it again as it grows out which is kind of a bummer.

Actually the color was brighter in the front of my head and much darker in the rest of my hair. I am not sure if it had to do with the way I applied it. It also did not cover my gray hair very well. It did blend it but i could begin seeing some gray hair after few hair washes. I would try a darker color next time.

Ive had cheap boxed dye last longer. This is low quality and not recommended. I tried it out for two months and had nothing but disappointment. I even tried darkening the color, but it washed out almost immediately. Will be cancelling my service asap.

When they switched to the new products it's not the same so I stopped my order. I'm only doing this review because they won't stop sending me emails that I never signed up for. If they go back to the old formula I will consider to come back until then I'll go somewhere else.

The Smell was too much to take

The color and coverage was very good, The product did leave my hair a bit coarser than it normally is, but some extra conditioner takes care of that. The thing I can't get past is the smell. Sorry but it is just too much for me.

Love the color; but it dries my hair

I love this color/shade, however, my hair has been like straw ever since I applied it. Extremely dry and no level of conditioning or moisturizing seems to help. I won't be using this again

I explicitly mentioned my thick hair and virgin roots. I got the package and it wasnt enough for my whole head (this service is geared towards people with thinner and lighter hair apparently). I also followed their directions. I have been box dyieing my hair for years. This is the ONLY time I have ever gotten light roots like a damn band. And it did nothing to my lower hair. I did mention it was processed and gave a picture of its current color. Anyway terrible.

Medium brown came out black

I was trying to go from a blonde shade to a medium brown which is similar to my natural color. They gave me a color tint to fill my hair before dying it, which I did. I don't know how this happened, but the dye made my hair completely black. I emailed esalon and left a note for my colorist, but didn't receive much support other than use a clarifying shampoo or a color corrector. I did end up using a color corrector and now there are some hollow spots in my hair, but it is mostly brown. Overall I'm really disappointed with the lack of support from this company. I also don't think a color tint was enough for a color fill. Wish I could get my money back.
