I ordered a medium blonde and am happy with the color but disappointed in the gray coverage. The dye has a very strong ammonia odor - stronger than salon and other mail order brands I have tried - so I was reluctant to let it process for longer than the recommended 20 minutes.

The formulation has been changed and while the color is nice, it only lasts 2-3 weeks. And yes, I've tried to leave it on longer. I used to get at least 4 weeks out of a color.

after i ordered my last kit i decided to stop dying my hair.. i let my roots grow out like crazy, maybe 5 inches of brown and grey. Last week i decided to finally dye it, at first it seemed good. it covered my greys quite well. but some how didnt cover my brown? it seems my roots are still kinda brown AND today i noticed silver hairs around my hairline. i like your product, i like the attention to detail and personalization. But i think its just not black or strong enough.

Meine Färbeprimiere war ein voller Erfolg. Top Farbton, einfache Handhabung, perfekte Grauabdeckung.Volle Zufriedenheit. Das Färben der Ansätze noch ca. 7 Wochen war dann leider enttäuschend. So gut wie keine Grauabdeckung, Zweierlei Farbtöne im Licht erkennbar und ich bekam sehr stark Schuppen. Gemacht wurde es genau so sorgsam und nach korrekter Anleitung wie beim ersten Mal. Schade. Konnte mich nicht überzeugen und ich werde wieder zum Fachmann gehen und dort färben lassen.

Had to go to the local drugstore to get an all over color and Highlighting kit to fix it. Now I want to change my color all together and I'm unable to. All they want to do is adjust, I want a new color for roots and tips. Period! This is my 3rd time trying to get the right product. I love my hair and want it to look amazing, I've always went to the salon, but now with covid. Not sure what to do

Smells like ammonia, just like the store brand. The color is very vibrant but it does not last. Little gray I have by my temple sowed up a week after coloring. I color my own hair for decades and I know how to do it. So the actual product is not as great as the commercial make me believe that was something special. Still has the smell and action of chemical stuff.

I got this adjustment order and i still saw some light brassiness and some of the grays were not covered completely. The instructions said to leave it on for 40mins, and i left it for 50 mins just in case. Overall not at all happy with this color, I already called and made an adjustment.

I originally had blond hair and i told the salon specialists that my hair has alot of red in it when i color it at first i dont like it orange!! I ordered a pearl blonde and the picture was close to my color...but the color i got was an orange color! And all my blonde is gone, its aweful😞 not happy at all.

I like the color, however can’t give it all 5 stars as it does not always get those stubborn grays in front of hairline in time allotted in the instructions. I am a woman of color and my hair is natural, I’m not sure if that is a factor, but I always have to add 10 more minutes to time.

2 different colours?

Finally got round to doing my colour - not quite what I was expecting and not what I ordered (medium blonde.) The roots are now strawberry blonde and the ends are blue/green. I wanted to go slightly lighter than my natural dark blonde, which was shiny and healthy looking. I've now got dull khaki ends and dull strawberry roots. It looks awful and as I don't wish to make my hair any drier, I've go to wait until it fades. Luckily my hair is long so I can put it up and hide the really nasty bits. Customer service haven't even bothered to reply to my 2 emails after a week. Won't ever buy again. Certainly won't recommend.

Je vous ai envoyé le résultat de ma couleur .. je suis à moitié satisfaite car pour les longueurs j ai dilué la coloration avec de l eau puis appliqué très peu de tps en comparaison des racines. Du coup la couleur des longueurs n’est pas belle et ma fille me dit qu il y a des reflets verts kaki ... et l ensemble n’est pas très “chaud”. J ai vu ds le détail qu’il y a un petit pourcentage de “cendré”. Que me conseillez vous ? Déjà sur les 2 photos il y a une différence de ton - je prefere la 1ere photo (même si les 2 photos ont été prise à 3’ d’intervalle. J'ai fait ma couleur le 18 novembre et j'ai lavé 1 fois mes cheveux avec le shampoing acheté sur votre site

The color was okay, honestly not much different than I had been using before. This made my scalp sensitive and itchy for a few days and it didn't really cover many of my grays! So very disappointed and dissatisfied. I had many high hopes especially when your advertisement was so selling about how it covers stubborn grays and the color was specified to my individual liking etc. Not very impressed with the results at all. It wasn't the worst, but wasn't spectacular either. I dyed my hair on 10/31/20 and my grays (the ones that were covered) were already surfacing by the following week! And the grays that were covered were noticeably lighter than the rest of my hair. I don't have a significant amount of grays, however it's enough to see when they grow out. I sold your product to my sister as well (prior to me using my at that time), she had the same results, Itching scalp and grays not completely covered and others surfacing within a week. Wish I could get my money back that I paid for this product because I am honestly very unhappy with the results and the quality I have received from using your product. Thank you! Malissa Lopez

Words can't describe how upset I am with my last order... I asked for an adjustment of colour from my last order because the roots were too warm and the ends didn't take any colour at all. I applied my colour yesterday and I noticed a bird's nest kind of halo of baby hairs around my roots today. Not only that but my hair feels like jelly, it stretches and breaks like rubber. Not even after a full head bleach my hair was in this bad of a condition. On top of that, my roots are a hot cheeto colour. So right now, my hair which I spent years growing out is snapping off, it's too weak to take any more treatment so I'm stuck with this terrible orange colour in my roots and it just looks terrible. Again, upset doesn't begin to describe how I feel...

I am extremely dissatisfied with this purchase, as the hair color didn’t cover my grey hair. I had to use a brass root cover from the first week!
I followed the instructions carefully and I really don’t think that something went wrong at my end.
I like the color a lot but the grey coverage it’s just not working!

Color is okay, would prefer less reddish tones and is good coverage the fist few washings. After two weeks my grays show through on my root touch up areas.

Quiero que sepan que me disgustó mucho el resultado del producto.. apenas me cambio un poquito el dolor en las raíces pero ni siquiera quedo una tonalidad en mi cabello. NO ME QUEDO NADA!! NADA DE COLOR!!!!

I have ordered dark blonde 3 times, Each time I requested color adjustments. No Luck! The color has been too dark and too brassy. I have given up on trying to get this color right. I am looking forward to going back to my stylist to get the color I want. While I am living in Covid times I will just live with a color I'm not really happy with because I don't want to start over with another company.

I dyed my hair twice the first time I choose demi-permanent and it was fun but temporary, as said in the description. I dyed my hair again in the same color in permanent and it faded quicker than the demi-permanent. I have dark blonde hair and went a strawberry blonde.

My roots are darker than my ends, so I was hoping this would help even it out by darkening my ends but after I completed the process I immediately noticed my roots were still darker which was disappointing. In addition, my hair is extremely dry now and I've tried using serums and conditioning masks to no avail.

This color never took. The color smelled differently and was watery. I’m thinking either they changed a product or I got a bad batch. I was never offered another bottle even after chatting with a customer service agent. Pricing is crazy for color that is no better than the local drug store.

I did like the color but I have never smelled a more potent hair dye smell. It made my eye water the entire time, making it difficult to apply my color. At one point my nose was burning as well. I ended up with a bad headache after.

Asked for lighter with more red tones. Ended up with the total opposite. I have black hair. Very little red tones and black. My hair grows at a pretty fast rate, roots within a eeek. Never did I want dark, let alone black

I love the color… Bright, natural looking, multi dimensional. Covered my gray amazingly well. But it dried out my hair quite a bit, while other colors have given my hair more of a silky texture, this color has done just the opposite.

I put in request to change my current color as I wish to go lighter. The email response was Esalon would lighten my current as much as possible and recommended a color lightening set along with my color. I added the lightening set and continued to check the color change on my regular color. Unfortunately until after it shipped was I able to see the adjustments and nothing was adjusted. I am needing to place an order but don’t want to until I can confirm a change in color.

I only wanted to try and see if I could color my own hair. The color was way too dark. I am so upset that they put me on auto order as I don't have time for this. I have asked for a refund so I hope they comply.

I used this product a while ago and it seared my scalp and had horrible aroma. I just realized that it ruined my hair! It's crackly dry and weak, Tons of hair falling out when I grab it to put up or shampoo.
Needless to say, cancel my order.

I like this concept of personalized color and all the little tools a lot but this stuff dried my hair out very badly, there wasnt enough product (i do have a lot of hair) and the color faded quickly. I bought the tint rinse also to "boost" the color every now and then and noticed no difference. I take very good care of my hair, ie: no damaging products, only use cool water to wash, dont heat style, dont use a towel, etc. And still was less than impressed. It was ok to use during quarantine in a pinch but not sure id buy again.

My hair was thinning after several uses of this product. I stopped it for over 6 months and my hair is growing back. My stylist is using a different product that does not have the natural plants and my hair is growing back. I have many, many allergies and believe this product contains one that I am allergic to.

I have dark blonde/light brown hair. I wanted just a slightly lighter color to brighter me up. I tried twice and each times my hair came out red. I even bought the extra times for unwanted hughes. Back to the salon to fix this brassy red hair. Plus if you buy a color that is different from the rest of your hair you have a big line on demarcation. Looks awful.

The color, first off, is great. Very solid quality and considerable to salons. But when i first asked for a second bottle the initial time I used the product I barely had enough to finish my hair. When I requested 2 bottle the second time the price was 34 dollars for both. Compared to my salon it’s just not that much of a savings.

I bought my first color in July and it came ridiculously dark. Darker than my original color (it was supposed to be a bit lighter and redder). Customer service was slightly helpful at first, though the emails were full of misspelled words which raised alarm bells. I was told to keep washing my hair until it's out then we can re-color. That was in June. It's November. It's faded some but nowhere near out. I've been using Dawn at times and always a clarifying shampoo at least twice a week. I've emailed customer service because I'm ready to just dye something over it, and I would like advice on colors. Ten days an no reply, despite a follow up. Do not recommend this company.

Disappointed with the colour change

Dear All, since quite some time I am disappointed with my colour. As aging the ordered colour is too dark and therefore it makes me look much older. Texting with my colourist has not been very helpfull. I stuck with the colour "dark brown 20 gold" sometimes like that, sometimes with the remark "lighter". The change is hardly to see.. When I explained in texting..., that the colour is too dark, I get the respond : other is not possible. Why? I dont understand that. You marketing with the image you would mix the colour everytime individually (btw: who buys that?) nevertheless it is not possible to adopt my colour to my needs.
Here is what I need: an overview of brown colours possible! please send it to me or put it up on your page.
Are you only offering dark brown? no so please give me some options to choose. I had ( 2019?) received once the proper colour, but the order history doesn ´t show. Please step into that and help me to get my truely individuall brown with a golden shimmer as requestetd ( or as advertized). I am afraid its a question of communicating...you are the experts

I’ve never heard of eSalon before my dear friend heard me complaining that my silver strands that now highlight my hair, would not hold over the counter color. She told me to try this product. She assured me that I would love it. My friend was right. eSalon was able to hide that silver that was glistening in my hair. The only complaint that I have with the product was it was a wee bit dark for my liking. That being said, I am certain it was due to me choosing the wrong hair coloring initially. I sent in a new photo of myself from the summer. I do hope that the hair specialist can match the color of my summer hair better than I could choose for myself. Either way, I am completely done with using over the counter color. I am now a eSalon gal!
Thank you so much for helping me hide my well earned silver! Women NEVER looked distinguished. We just look OLD!!

Light brown from esalon is a dark-black color

For my initial order I selected a dark brown color with ash tone. When I applied it to my colored hair which at that time was a medium-light brown color, my hair turn out black. I contacted my colorist and she suggested to just let it fall out with the washes or to apply a hair color remover. I applied the color remover as I hated how the black color looked on me. Once the black color was out, I contacted my colorist to get a lighter brown color. I applied the light brown to my hair and to my surprise it was another black color. Now my hair is dry and black. I hate it so much, but I am not going to put it through another color remover treatment. I am not sure if esalon knows what a light brown color looks like or if the colorist just didn’t give me the right color. Either way, I cancelled the service as I had the worst luck ever 😭
I will upload a pic of my dark hair but I don’t see an option here.

Still not happy with the tone/shine color of my hair

In the light (daylight or fluorescent) it shines tawny with almost a yellow tone. I am still hoping for a colde, almost blue-ish tone, more purple. I know this is hard to achieve with just hair dye. I'm just not too keen on the color my hair turns in the sunlight.
