I gave it 2 stars because I love the color. However, it fades fast, my hair is frizzy and damaged and the bottle isnt enough for my whole head. The cost is 4 times the cost of a box dye from the store. This is my second box. I wont be getting a third.

The color seems to have changed or something. The last 3 times I have used the seal on color it has come out within a week or two. I tried Sally Beuty supply and it lasted me 6 weeks without color fade

I had tried eSalon years ago and found the colour did not cover my grey and was too light. Tried it again last week and found I had similar results. My grey did not cover well and the colour is much too light and has an organgey shade, rather than the dark brown I was expecting.

Dark brown color I had used several years ago was black. Also, my scalp burned with application, and trying to self apply with the squeeze tube was so difficult that it was hilarious. Which I could buy the brush and bowl, but they’re out.

I asked for the colorist to change my haircolor by lightening it two shades lighter. I received no communication regarding this change until I was informed by order was being shipped. Then upon receiving the color, the directions told me to dye my new growth and keep dying it over time until it is all the desired color. This is unacceptable to me. I have shoulder length hair, and I don't want to wait two years for my hair to be a new color. I don't appreciate the lack of communication and the methodology recommended. I thought eSalon was better than this.

There was waxy residue left on my hair.

Very thick waxy built up in my hair. I am not sure if was a defective formula or what. Or maybe this dye doesn’t work with my hair. I wanted to know what to do about the waxy buildup. Should use an exfoliating shampoo or baking soda. I had to wash my hair 5 times after the color and another 3 times the next day. It’s still greasy and waxy.

Please review my notes that I sent. I do not want any new orders. I want a refund. No-one has yet to follow up as stated in your response. Substandard customer service. I tried eSalon several years ago and didn't love it. Tried it again recently after seeing many people i know give great reviews. I was wrong and should have trusted my gut. Still smells very highly of ammonia. I couldn't breathe when I was rinsing it out. It was THAT bad. It was very drippy. I'm pretty good at not making a mess but it's nearly impossible with this stuff. Then the color. It was disappointing and not remotely close to what I wanted. What I wanted was a rich red. What I got what a pooh brown. I won't be getting this again.

Es wurde ganz andere Farbe für mich erstellt, als ich mir gewünscht habe. Auch allgemein ist die Farbe einfach Schrott. Dank Abbo hab auch mehrere Packungen bekommen, was auch ganze Menge Geld gekostet hat. Zwei mal ausprobiert, voll daneben, auch schlecht deckend! Letzte Packungen sind einfach in Mülleimer gelandet. Nie wieder!

I have never professionally dyed my hair at a salon and home box dyes have done a poor job at covering my grays so I was willing to pay a little extra for full gray coverage. Unfortunately, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED! :(
My results: Some grays remain silver white and some turned golden orange. Also, during the dyeing process, the aroma of the dye made my eyes sting when I turned my head to look in the mirror. I'm concerned about what is in the formula that caused my eyes to sting and am worried about the health of my scalp and hair. I have never experienced this with box dyes. I messaged my colorist regarding my concerns. I am willing to give esalon one more try.

Turned my roots orange

I reached out to customer service but have not heard back yet. I followed all the instructions to the dot, but my roots became a quite bright orange colour. I specifically mentioned that I wanted to avoid orange or coppery tones, so I am not very happy with the colour of my roots. The colour of the rest of my hair is not bad, but I have personally had better results with just a drugstore hair dying set, so I didn't see the benefits of this personalised hair colour.

Ya he pedido antes cuando vivía en Los Ángeles No enviaron el color que pedí , envié foto de cómo estaba mi cabello y una nota explicando cuál era mi base de que color estaba teñido y como lo quería, seguí las instrucciones al pie de la letra y quedó mal no tiene el color que pedí espero que se comuniquen

This was a different color from my roots only color, which I didn’t realize, and I hated it. Made my hair very orange looking. Thank god we’re not going out in public right now . I will go to the store and by another to cover it up. I’m concerned it will damage my hair:-(

I know I wanted lighter but I think I actually made a mistake on this. I did ask for my next color to be a little darker and a little more red. Fingers crossed it's what I want.

Emailed that I wasn't crazy about the color. It wasn't what I wanted. I asked for them to send the correct color and was just told they would adjust for my next order. What happened to the guarantee??? The color applied came out spotty and uneven. So far I am not impressed.

I didnt really see much difference from my natural hair color and the color i applied. I just canceled my next order and rather go to the hair stylist to get better result. I rate it 3 stars coz the smell is not that bad and easy to apply. Pls cancel my order.

I found it to be the same as everything else I've used/tried. There was no 'Wow' factor - at all. I REALLY DID NOT LIKE THE SHOWER PART. I'm STILL trying to get that color out of my shower!!! Please cancel my account. Thank you very much. Stay Safe.

Did NOT cover all my gray!

Applied as directed, in fact left the color on an extra 10 minutes and then proceeded as directed. Some gray did not colored at all, some gray was very light brown instead of dark brown. I sent a message to my colorist 3 days ago with no response. I watched the cover gray video also. NO RESPONSE. I am thinking about discontinuing if I can not get a response/resolution to my problem.

It was easy to apply and my hair seemed well conditioned after applying, and a great color match-however after less than 2 weeks, the gray was showing again so was disappointed that it was washing out very quickly

The color was not a bad match, but it faded after 10 days. Grey was only minimally covered. I had it applied by a licensed cosmetologist, so it wasn't my own efforts to color my hair. I was disappointed and cancelled my subscription. I never heard from a sales person about my dissatisfaction.

I believe my hair color was the correct shade, however the extremely strong chemical odor and the excessive burning sensation while coloring gives pause for thought. If this makes my scalp burn, what is it doing to my hair? Madison Reed, I will be coming back, and I apologize for leaving based on the Allure Magazine recommendation!

I was excited to try my new custom made esalon hair color. I thought it done well but after just a few days my gray roots started showing, I usually can go 4 to 5 weeks before having to recolor it. $22 wasted.

Ich habe am 29.03.2020 ein Color Set bestellt und per PayPal sofort bezahlt, dann hörte ich lange nichts von eSalon. Auf mehrfache Nachfrage, habe ich die Antwort erhalten, dass die Bestellung in Bearbeitung ist und sich die Lieferung aufgrund der Nachfrage verzögert. Am 09.04. (also 10 Tage nach Bestellung und mit Ankündigung per Mail am 05.04.) habe ich mir eine Tönung in der Drogerie gekauft und die Bestellung bei eSalon fristgerecht widerrufen. Der Widerruf wurde nicht bearbeitet, meine Mails wurden nicht beantwortet, es wurde seitens eSalon lediglich das Abo ausgesetzt. Mein Geld habe ich nicht mehr zurückerhalten. Dieses Geschäftsgebaren ist unserös, ich werde dort nicht mehr bestellen und kann nur allen davon abraten dies zu tun.

Unfortunately, the second round of color still did not cover the gray roots. At this point, I would like a refund instead of trying another color again. I am including pictures to show how the hair looks after the second application just to the roots.

The directions were clear. I liked the color, but on the sideburns and beard the color did not last long. about 5 days to start and in 10 days it was half white. I am making my 3d application today, but if it does not last I will go back to my old color. I do like this new color tho. As bad as it stains skin you would think it would last longer on hair.

Colored my hair yesterday, it’s faded today. I decided to give this a shot because I didn’t want to keep getting my hair dyed but apparently that was a huge mistake now I have a horrible orange faded color in my hair and can’t dye it again because it’ll damage it.

I tried this color twice. The first time because I ordered an unflattering color for my skin tone. The second because after talking to one of your employees about this issue I was sent another color kit. I thought the employee understood my situation.

I liked using this kit but the color had way too much red for me and when I used the balance of the bottle as a “wash” as instructed it really
Made my whole hair a monotone and I lost the highlights I had previously. Super easy to use, great product, color was just off.

Great blend for overall coverage although the gold tones do not show. Horrible grey coverage. I can see grey after first wash and I have tried this color twice.

Die Farbe selbst ist superschön und genau was ich wollte. Das Auftragen war in Ordnung, auch wenn die Haarfarbe sehr stark gerochen und mir ziemlich in den Augen und Atemwegen gebrannt hat. Das Ergebnis war dann auch wirklich toll, toller Glanz, Haare haben sich gut angefühlt auch wenn sie seitdem statisch aufgeladen sind. Das große Aber ist allerdings: ich habe mir vor 8 Tagen die Haare gefärbt und ein Großteil der Farbe ist schon wieder draußen. Vielleicht liegt es an meiner Haarstruktur, aber das sollte nicht sein.

Worst hair experience since I was 12

This dye turned into gummy glue on my scalp. It took me an hour to get some of it out. It was a two hour process total I finally used shower gel which was only thing that would break it up a little. I had to comb it out of every piece of hair. It was especially awful at back of hair and over ears. It was an awful experience and I have died and not enjoyed dying my hair at home for over 30 years. Some haven’t colored the greys that well but none amounted to torture

This is the 3rd try on the hair color with adjustments requested each time to see if it would work. I left the color on for 60 minutes this time.. 20 minutes longer than told to do. I started with my grey areas first at the temple and roots.. but the color still would not take at the temple area & in some of the root area. I am so bummed as I really hoped this would work, but I can't seem to find a solution. The color itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, I have cancelled my subscription. Maybe I will try again another time, but after 3 tries I don't think it will work.

Didn't lighten as advertised

First time using esalon and was very hopeful. Unfortunately the color of my hair barely changed and overall it feels like a waste. I was trying to get my dark brown hair lighter, which I know isn't easy...especially from a box without bleaching, but the way this was advertised made It seem as though It would work. I was given a sense of possibility when I was shown in the simulation of what my hair would look like post dying it with my selected color. I'm now left with hair that has been dyed, but to a different color and without the change I was looking for.

The real and honest truth.. my intention is not to bash eSalon or be cruel. This is my actual and honest experience..
I can't speak for the color or the application process but I feel very let-down. I placed my first order a week or two ago and was really excited because I had seen so many reviews stating how great eSalon was. For obvious reasons, I was nervous to purchase hair dye through the internet and was even more unsure about the color that I should get. So I called to talk to a representative or "colorist." I was told that once I created my online profile I could voice those concerns in the questionnaire they have you fill out, select a color that I liked, and then someone would call or email me to talk me through it. When my coloring kit showed up on my doorstep, I still hadn't heard from a colorist, so I gave them a call. I was told that I was speaking to one of eSalon's "colorists" but the woman I was speaking to was definitely not a professional. It was as if she was reading from a script and did nothing to ease my mind. She also didn't seem to know anything about me, my current hair color, or what I was looking for, because she asked me all of the questions she should have already known the answers to when she "pulled up my profile."
Again, it is not my intent to "bash" eSalon. Like a lot of people, I have had my fair share of color mishaps and when I get my hair done or dye my hair at home, I want to be able to trust either the stylist or the company that I am buying hair dye from. I didn't feel like I could trust eSalon.

I ordered here to be safe about the color I was getting by a professional ! I had highlights in my hair so I wanted to go LIGHTER into a caramel color . The hair dye I got made my hair dark brown it took me time to do the highlights now I’m back to square 1 . So upset

I tried to order a color similar to my blonde hair ( I’ve had it blonde for years by choice). I should have known it was going to be an epic disaster when I was not allowed to order blonde. I got a dark ashy brown. I waited and waited to finally use the e-salon product because I was scared it wild come out wrong and of course it did. I went from blonde to brunette which I am very unhappy about.
I could have gotten the same results with an over the counter dye. I am Very upset and disappointed, what a waste of money and it makes me look horrible.
Highly advice against buying e-salon unless experimenting and having very low expectations.

I don’t normally write reviews but I was a little disappointed so here it is. I just colored my hair with an esalon product. I love the color. It did not cover my gray at my face line. But did cover scalp gray. I also lost a lot of hair. I don’t normally color my own hair and maybe that is normal. Don’t know if I will buy again. Ended coverage!

I've not used this product as after I ordered it, you wrote to me saying that you were unable to match the colour to the lightness of my hair colour. I am therefore not happy to risk using something that you yourselves stated would not match my hair colour, and taking the risk that i would end up with two tone hair!! I am not really able to understand why you could not specifically get to the blonde colour shade that I have always had ... its not that difficult, and in fact I have since bought a colour product from the chemist which has done the job no problem! Therefore I will not be ordering again. Thank you, and have to say I am disappointed in the service.

The product did not cover any of my grays! I don’t have enough for roots to be an issue (yet!), but enough to want my overall cover to mask them. I followed all the instructions, and the actual color took (wasn’t a drastic change), but the process and product was basically a waste of time and money for me, all things considered.

I was very excited to get my box. I love the packaging and the way it looked, the personalization of it all. I followed the instructions exactly. My colour was supposed to be intense Pearl. What I got was very dark brown, no purple no red. WTF I’m so so disappointed, it’s that dark nothing is going to go over it and make a difference other than another dark brown, which is not what I wanted, purple/red yes brown no.
Shame I really wanted to like this.

I cannot believe after all of the questions I answered they got my color so wrong. My hair is auburn they sent color for roots and ends, Now I have violet roots and brown orange ends. When my stylist is back at work she will need to do a color correction. I would have been better off with a drugstore product. At lease I would have picked the right color.

Soy una chica joven que ha usado en el pasado este tipo de productos. Por el confinamiento decidí probar. Envíe mi foto, yo pedí un cobrizo muy natural y CLARO. Lo que me enviaron fue un caoba feísimo y muy artificial que me oscureció el cabello. . Estoy horrorizada. Cuando la colorista ‘yvette’ me contacto le conteste para preguntarle acerca de las raíces... jamas me contestó. Con esa no respuesta y esa fluidez en la comunicación desistí de preguntar nada más. Lo que está claro es que no me han énviado lo que yo pedí. Y ahora tendré que ir a la peluquería para que me lo arreglen. Otra experiencia fatal fue usar el tazón para echármelo. Casi me intoxico. Nunca más.

I ordered the lightest blond, I thought. Included a pic. Maybe I should have left the color in for 40 minutes instead of 30, but it came out significantly darker than I thought. It's okay, and I can live with it, but I do wish it was a lot lighter. Like I said, maybe I should have left it in longer. But if there is no shade lighter, I may not order again.

I specifically ordered from this company because they advertised the tone was superior to other box dye. I ordered cool blonde and it turned my hair orange ! I cannot get to the salon to have it fixed my hair looks terrible and I am stuck with it. This product did not perform as advertised. Do NOT Recommend

The kit was very nice. I was not pleased with the color I picked. I think the colors are to limited. But the product was very good.

My hair has always taken twice as long to color than Colorists think or directions tell me. Plus they are always too orange.

NOT the right color AT ALL and I had a HAND FULL of hair FALL OUT!

The color smelled great but then when we used it all was good until washout time and I had handfuls of hair falling out and then when I finally got it conditioned (which what they gave me was nowhere NEAR enough for the job it did on my hair). I had to use all kinds of special conditioners to add to what they gave me to cover all the rats and big hunks of hair stuck together in a big not to try and loosen them. I also had to use a leave-in conditioner after I got out of the shower to be able to PICK through my hair cause no way was a brush going through it without ripping even MORE hair out! The color is NOT right it was supposed to be red and it has spots of blonde in it and I am just very disappointed. I thought this would be the BEST in hair color, I guess I was REALLY bad wrong! I hope they help me!

The color is just okay

It’s not that the color is bad, and it may be because I JUST dyed my roots today and it takes time to lighten a little bit (maybe) but with my notes saying that I would like to go lighter and with the slight adjustment of my color going lighter, I don’t see a difference and my roots actually look even darker then they did before. I don’t see a “new look” and I don’t feel confident and happy with my color.
