I want to give this more stars! I plan to continue using this hate color system but I still haven't found the right color. So it's frustrating. Plus it can be difficult to wash the color out after I dye it. It almost makes my hair feel like I'm trying to wash out was from my hair.

My hair went from blonde to dull gray color but my roots are a little light strawberry blonde. Horrible. My husband looked at me and says your hair is gray all over.

Disappointed in the gray coverage. 2 weeks after, there is significant gray and the color fades within 10 days. I have tried the tint rinse... it does nothing for my hair.

I was disappointed in the coverage... I have a patch of gray hair in the front of my head that the color didn’t cover enough, I put a lot of the product on that part of my hair & it seems like it has lightened up in that area after 1 washing.

What a disappointing product. Followed all 'personalised' instructions stringently. The product went everywhere - all over the bathroom. Results. GREY hairs remain and dull lifeless ends. I had some remaining dye left over so I persevered and re-did my grey on the hairline with NO results. Product is very chemically and now I have a burning scalp to boost. Have had far superior results from a £6 box of dye from the chemist. Do not recommend.

Hi, I followed your instructions and colored my hair today, but result did not satisfied me.
1. Roots did not change the color at all and still have my original color.
2. Ends are much darker that I was ordering and expecting.
I was ordering based on the picture on your website and was expecting bright vibrant light orange/copper, but the final color of my hair after coloring with your formula is red copper and very dark.

My color was supposed to be a medium blond with copper. My whole head turned the color of a penny. It looked horrible absolutely horrific. I followed the instructions to a T. I will never order through this company again. Thanks for ruining my hair.

My natural hair color is medium brown. I wanted to go a little lighter with a cooler shade and chose the light brown (cool beige), but that is not the color that came out. Instead my hair color is darker, and slightly red. I thought the process of dying my hair was simple and straightforward. Just a little disappointed I didn't get the color I wanted.

Komplett Haare färben war super
Aber nach fast 2 Wochen wieder graue Haare da, ca 3 cm.
Das bedeutet, dass ich alle 2 Wochen färben muss....das geht nicht.
Dann habe ich zufällig bei Rossmann gefunden, Ansatzspray .... nur oben auf Mittelscheitel.

I still have areas of my roots that are still gray. Despite having expert application of you product by a professional, there are still sections of gray that were not covered. We did this last night and I'm not happy with the results. Please send me the two necessary components to redo it in a little while. I don't need the rest of the kit. i would expect this to be free since your product did not work as advertised.

Up until I washed my hair the next day (or 2) the color was perfectly matched to my own.
My grays are starting to appear already after the first time washing, pretty disappointing since that's the main reason I ordered this product. It made my hair very soft though!

So difficult to get what I ordered

Ordered a couple weeks ago, filled in all the information that was asked for including my goal with the color, which was all over color. My order was reviewed by a stylist she changed the color to something she thought would be better but when I got my order finally after waiting almost two weeks it was labeled root touch up not all over color. After calling and speaking with a representative it isn’t enough to get my hair colored so I have to wait another 3-5 days after the color is recreated to get what I ordered originally! All in all I haven’t tried the product yet and won’t be able to for about 3 weeks after my original order. Hopefully this color is phenomenal for the amount of time I’m having to wait just to obtain the correct order.

I can't really complain because my goal was to cover the gray hair from my roots, also because I mean this was my decision and in the situation we are living there was no other option. However I was not expecting my hair to be this dark, I mean I had highlights.I wanted the color to match my COLORED hair not my ROOTS. I mean of course not as light as highlights but a light color to match the whole color evenly. Now my hair color is completely DARKER than I thought it would be :(

Ich habe die Farbe am 02. April bezahlt und bis heute (26.04) ist die Farbe nicht bei mir angekommen. Da ich weder eine Bank bin noch vier Wochen meine Ansätze kaschieren kann und möchte sehe ich hier keinen Nutzen und kann es in keiner Weise weiterempfehlen.

I accidentally ordered root touch up when I wanted an all over color. I'm happy to order again but this website will not let me change my custom order and will only let me order the root touch up again.

Purchased this to go from my bright blonde back to bit darker of a color. My colorists really was amazing at explaining the process and suggesting my color fill. I just don’t feel that the color really pigmented enough. I have reached out so hopefully my colorist can get me corrected into something I’m a bit happier with but I will continue to try with esalon as I am so impressed with their shipping speed and service.

Hallo,
leider habe ich zwei Wochen nach dem Färben bereits weiße Haare im Ansatz. Es fing in der ersten Woche mit den Schläfen an und in der zweiten Woche, habe ich bereits am Oberkopf am Ansatz weise Haare. Bedeutet in 7 Tagen darf ich den Ansatz wieder färben. Das möchte ich nicht. enmal im Monat ist für mich ok. Ich möchte erwähnen, dass meine Haare nicht schnell wachsen.
Zufrieden war ich dieses mal somit nicht und überlege ob ich wieder zum Frisör soll.

für die 1. Lieferung hat es knappe 4 Wochen gedauert, das ist einfach unverschämt.
Inzwischen habe ich ein anderes Produkt gekauft, denn so lange konnte ich nicht warten.
Auf Ihr Produkt werde ich nicht mehr zurückgreifen.
Die Sache war ein großartiges Versprechen über Facebook , das ein riesen Schwindel war.
Ich werde Sie sicher nicht weiter empfehlen.

I was hoping that I would like this product, as the customer support team is excellent. I left color on as specified, it didn't even cover my gray. I don't want to place another order. I will continue using L' Oreal product, as I have in years.

I have never had a problem getting gray coverage, but didnt get good coverage from this product. I loved the packaging, and its perfect for someone that likes more natural colors, but the red wasnt as intense as I wouldve liked.

Loved how it was sent although the color was off a little to dark. Adding to my review: I have stuck with this for a while now I really love the permanent color does not fade out but when it comes to coloring my new growth greys I think I am about done, I have tried and tried but nothing no grey coverage at all around my face line, I tried no stain guard, extra time on the roots nothing works, another problem I have is never getting a email back when I send one, I had ordered the highlighter-but decided not to use it I emailed several times telling them but still got the orange color the net order. I am giving one more try then if not right im gone.

My stubborn gray hair that is coming out around my face was fully covered. However, the ash medium brown had more red tones that were slightly brassy than it was ash for me. With my skin tone, the “redder” the color the more it “washes” me out. I have been using purple shampoo to help tone it down as much as possible.
Update:
The color correction I purchased on April 8 I finally used today April 24, after taking recommendations to use a clarifying shampoo. I have been doing this for about two weeks prior to dying. Today my hair is more brassy and more orange!!! I decreased my stars to one star for awesome gray coverage. My hair has never been red or on the orange side naturally. I just doesn’t understand why my hair doesn’t like this product. Initially I was wanting a cool ash medium brown and it never went there. I think after a week or two I might just go back to L’Oréal to get red and the orange mess out. I’m so heartbroken. I really wanted to like this product. The problem with L’Oréal it doesn’t cover my gray as well. My hair is naturally dark medium brown. This color just washes me out and I look tired and worn out.

Après un seul shampoing la coloration s'estompe. Les cheveux blancs réapparaissent complètement aux racines alors que l'on a bien suivi les recommandations pour appliquer la couleur. Résultat pas satisfaisant

My so called custom color turned my roots orange. They will not refund my money.
Suppose to send me another color to cover it up it has not been shipped out yet.
It has been a week already. So much goes for their guarantee, I'm going to file a BBB complaint. Better off researching and buying your color at the store. I do not recommend esalon.

Hoping next time it'll cover the grays better. I will have to leave on much longer than the 30 minutes. Not too long though. Plus I never received my coloring brush, so I'll need that for the next color. Not too bad though!

Not the color I wanted

It's much darker brown than I expected. I was pretty sure I explained the color I wanted, I think I even sent a picture. But my real hair is much redder. I would like to know how I can redo this?

I was expecting a very good product based on the reviews, and I am very disappointed, my grows turned out very dark and my ends very light, it has a very poor cover for grey hair.
The color does not look even at all.

Had requested a lighter brown colourway and ended up with very dark, brown hair with red undertones. Really don't like red. I would like to say it doesn't really matter due to lockdown, but I am still working, and seeing people, social distancing...

Placed order March 25, order sent April 6 and I still haven’t received it. I understand todays times things may take a while but 16 days for within Europe seems a bit extreme. Another international purchase (different company) I made was here within a week.

I find some of the stubborn grays, especially at the temples, did not fully take the color. Also I noticed my hair felt particularly dry and frizzy after this. Can I get a more moisturizing preparation?

Based on my overview of the process, no one ever contacted me regarding my color selection. The packaging is cute but I would expect if the directions suggest I clip my hair up in 4 places the clips be provided, at least with initial order. While my first order was 50% off I do not feel this product is worth the full price. No additional service/support or direction than you would get in typical box hair color. I bought as a root touch up and not all gray covered (at temples specifically). I will see how long it lasts but overall rating is "average".

I was very excited to try dying my hair with my 'custom color' which was dark brown with gold tones. However, when I finally took the plunge and time to dye my hair, I was sadly disappointed. Instead of the color as stated, I wound up with brownish-gold and gray roots along with my already dark brown hair. I left the product on AMPLE time and followed the instructions so there's no reason a custom color couldn't do what any over-the-counter hair dye could: COVER THE GRAY! That WAS the point of this whole exercise after all (at least for me it was). Looks like it's back to L'oreal while still sheltered in place!

I was disappointed that my grey roots ended up lighter than the rest of my hair. After just two weeks the grey color went to light brown grey which was worse than the gray roots I started with. I found the ammonia to be overwhelming.

das was meine zweite Bestellung mit Farbänderung gewesen. Von mittelbraun gold kupfer auf Mittelbrauch asch.
Da schickt man mir nur eine Tube Farbe, obwohl man weiss das ich sehr lange Haare habe.
Als ich das Paket bekommen habe waren zwei Tuben und Entwickler, wo drauf stand 1 für Ansatz 2 für Farbe. Ich hatte aber noch einen Farbauffrischer und Tinte Rinse mitbestellt.
Ich schrieb der Firma das der Farbauffrischer wohl fehlt. Aber da man erst nach 4 Wertagen eine Antwort bekommt habe ich meine Haare nach Anweisung gefärbt. Ansätze sind in Ordnung gewesen die Farbe hat mit gefallen aber an den Längen habe ich keinen Unterschied zu meiner vorherigen Haarfarbe gesehen. Doch einen Unterschied gab es, dass die Haare grünlich am schimmern waren.
Daraufhin habe ich der Firma das geschildert. Ich habe dann auf meine erste mail eine Nachricht bekommen, dass mit der Lieferung alles in Ordnung sei und das die zweite Tube der Farbauffrischer ist.
Auf meine Nachricht mit dem grünstich habe ich bis heute keine Nachricht bekommen.
Also mein Fazit ist:
1. sehr schlechte Kommunikation. Auch bei Corona Zeiten können die Coloristen wenigestens auf die Nachrichten im Home office Antworten.
2. die coloristen sprechen schlecht Deutsch so das ich am Telefon mal dachte ob die mich wirklich auch verstanden hat.
3. Da wird nicht mitgedacht. Wenn man mit sehr langen Haaren eine Farbänderung haben möchte liegt es wohl auf der Hand, dass diejenige zwei Tuben Farbe braucht.
Echt schade, aber dafür sind mir meine Nerven und meine Zeit zu schade. Werde eine andere Firma suchen. Im Internet habe ich gegen Grünstich Zitronensaft gelesen habe es angewandt ist ein wenig besser geworden. Jetzt warte ich das meine Friseurin wieder aufmacht.

I sent pics and looked at the pics online but the color was too dark. I normally purchase medium ash brown Clairol
Root touch up for in between salon styling. But the esalon medium ash brown was DARK ASH brown. Very disappointed.

I really like the color, the match is perfect. The packaging and tools are great, the shampoo/conditioner is great but I think that the gray coverage is not the best. I last colored 9 days ago and there are little grays re-emerging right along the front hair line right at my forehead. Additionally, the color seems quite drying. This isn't a huge issue as I can deep condition as needed but still an issue since I have used store bought box colors that actually improved the overall condition. If I could get that level of condition with this level of color I would never go to a salon.

The color match is almost perfect.
I do have an issue though; the color doesn’t cover my grey around the edges and it doesn’t last like salon color. Do I need a different type of color for better grey coverage?

This is the second time I’ve tried Esalon in the last six years. Both times I’ve wanted all over color and both times they only sent me root touchup color. My gray roots took the Esalon color for four days and then my gray was super obvious once again. Never again!

nicht meine Farbe

Ich war mit den Farbergebnis nicht zufrieden, es trocknet die Haare sehr aus. Ich wollte nicht alle paar Wochen diese Farbe bestellen, konnte dies aber nicht ändern. Es hat keiner auf dei erste Mail geantwortet und ich bekam eine weitere Rechnung/Bestellung. Ich möchte nichts mehr von dieser Firma!!!

I was embarrassed when I saw the color. It was not what I expected and I tried hard to make sure that I provided pictures and information to get the right shade or very close to it. I just talked with a representative and they are sending me a highlighter kit and the next color free, so I am trying to see what happens, but I am discouraged that it's so much darker than I expected.
