Plenty of product - great added things like 2 pairs of gloves and the stain wipe The colour was too bold for me and will need to tone it down - I also found the product very drying for my hair and used a lot of conditioner every wash since -

I have only just used the first colour package and am not happy with the result as the colour is very dark AND before I had time to contact you to cancel any more products being sent I received the second package! This is very upsetting as I tried to cancel any other packages but could only delay the delivery date as there was no way on your system of stopping further deliveries. Please accept this message as my formal instructions that I do not wish to receive any products from you with IMMEDIATE EFFECT!
And you will remove all my personal and card details from your database on receipt of this message and will confirm by email that you have closed my account with you and that you will not take any further monies from my Bank Account. I am self-isolating at the moment so I am unable to return the second box at this time. I have tried on several occasions to call you but all lines are busy. Please respond ASAP - regards Sue Harding

Way too dark and not what I thought I was getting

My previous hair color, a box color, was a medium auburn I liked and received many compliments on. The color in my eSalon kit, applied according to their instructions, is a solid dark brown which looks unnatural and is not what I ordered. I am very fair, have very pale eyes and had natural auburn hair, which suited my coloring, for the first two decades of my life. This color makes me look older than I am and is way too dark for my complexion.
I am very unhappy with it and will not be ordering from them again. What I will be doing today and tonight is trying to remove the color so I can start over and use my box color again as it is less expensive and gives me the results I want.

I asked for a light -med blonde, I indicated that I wanted to be close to my current color, what I got was terrible!!! It’s red, brassy, ashy, and dark!!! And it’s dull as can be!!

Ordered light blonde and applied to my roots as instructed. Was horrified to see once washed that my roots had turned bright orange, which look horrific. Ladies do not buy this, go to the salon instead! Will cost me a fortune to rectify and has undone years of good work on part of my hairdresser! Highly unimpressed and will not be recommending to anyone!

I'm so bummed. I am breaking out like crazy. I looked for a product that would not have the PPD additives or any harsh chemicals. Madison Reed promised that I would love this product and I've done nothing but scratch my head, my neckline and its even effecting my eyes, ears, forehead--basically everywhere. The presentation of product is nice, I like the color, although I wanted dark ash brown--the blue black is tooooooooooooooo dark. I didn't even put all of the color on. Once you go black, black you cant do anything else. The color was too much and I'm breaking out like crazy. So Madison Reed lied. They are just like any other product---full of harsh chemicals that will probably give me cancer. Not right that they lied.

The online experience was fine (up to a point, see below). The product was beautifully packaged. My hair felt good afterward - texture, coverage was good. But the color itself wasn't the rich, vibrant red I had wanted and expected. I think if I could have talked live with a colorist it would have been better. There were color choices on my screen that were not active because I'd been pre-assigned to certain tones...this from the short survey taken prior to my color being formulated.

I was really looking forward to this product. I was so happy when it came and couldn’t wait to try coloring my hair for the first time. It didn’t change my hair color at all. I followed all the instructions but after applying all over my head, waiting 30 minutes, blending, and washing everything out, and drying my hair, nothing happened. Same color before and after, absolutely no change. Very upsetting waste of time and I hope I can get my money back. Unfortunately their custom color didn’t work on me.

My first color for my roots was way too light, so now my roots are much lighter than my prior color which looks odd. I requested a darker color for my next order and emailed several questions. I do not know how much darker my color should be. Although the site says we can have a personal consult, I see no way to arrange this. I never received a confirmation of my order (but then found on the web site that it had been placed -- but I would prefer to discuss how dark the color should be and not experiment). I have never received a response to any of my questions and no one has contacted me. Last, I have very dry, curly hair and prefer to use my own products to shampoo and detangle. There is no need to send me these items.

I received the color and di my hair last night. I specifically said I did not want my hair to turn any kind of red, Its red not a dark red buts red. I had no blonde hair, I didnt want my hair to be that dark either. So please cancel my subscription. You told me i needed to use a different color and I did.

I was thoroughly disappointed with the eSalon experience. Everything came in pretty packaging and had my hopes up. I followed the instructions to dye my hair immediately. The dye did turn a pretty auburn/purple, the color I expected. The smell was very strong, gave me a headache. After I was done and washed everything off, all the color washed off! After I dried my hair, there was no hint of "dark brown purple pearl" or whatever. If anything my brown hair was a lighter shade of brown, which is probably just damage from the chemicals. The color didn't stay but the odor did! I kept getting headaches every time I washed my hair and the smell would come out more pungently for the next few days! What's more frustrating is that even though I saw no change in color that I wanted, my pillowcases got stained and my entire bedset is now ruined! I wanted to do something fun with my hair while stuck in quarantine and instead of going with a generic drugstore brand, I tried to play it safe with eSalon. I ended up burning my hair, a three day headache, and stained sheets which costs hundreds of dollars! Truly, just go with a store brand, at least it will dye your hair and is half the stupid price.

Tough greys?

I was going fir a neutral light briwn. The salon team recommended I do a two step process with a gold filler first. Unfortunately this has left me with a very brassy light brown. Further it doesn’t cover my greys, just makes them brassy. It will wash out quickly . I’m frustrated as I either end up with very bleached white streaks when I get it professionally or I end up with a color that is not natural and very brassy when I do it myself. I’m wondering if I’ll just have to go a full year and grow out my natural color with lots of grey.

Hab die Farbe vor 3 Wochen aufgetragen jetzt nach 2tagen Sonne Gartenarbeit ist das ganze rot weg meine Haare sind jetzt nicht mehr rot sondern kommisch braun.

The color was okay. The packaging was fancy and they did their best to impress me by sending 2 bottles with different peroxide volumes. Problem is that they got it totally backward. They wanted me to put the 15 volume on my roots and the 20 volume on the ends. How does that make any sense at all? Anything lower than 20 vol peroxide will not cover grey very well and having to mix 2 bottles is pointless and annoying. Not to mention that I was depositing color not lifting color so if they wanted to really impress me they would have sent 10 volume for the ends. Then they turned around and auto charged me for more color 10 weeks later without checking with me. In normal times, okay, maybe, but THERE IS A PANDEMIC GOING ON. I need my money for rent not hair color and the ONLY way to cancel is to call during business hours. This whole experience has turned into a huge hassle all around.

Still had reddish tint which I got this to avoid...but this kit was very cute and organized. It just didn’t add any color to my roots or seem to make a difference with my hair at all, just gave me a red tint to my hair.

I was very eager to use this product because of the great reviews online. The box arrived damaged and color had leaked all over the instructions and my counter. It was unusable. I have sent 3 emails asking for replacement with no response. I would be willing to try again and adjust my review if you can send me undamaged product.

My hair is currently dried out and my roots are lighter than the middle of my hair but my ends are lighter than that, somehow. I have a bunch of shade differences that weren’t noticeable at first but have come to light as I’ve washed a few times. Overall, it got my roots done and no more greys but I’m not happy about how dried out it left my hair or the splotchy colors.

Did not diminish the red tone in my hair

I had light blonde highlighted hair. My natural color is a light ash brown. I had dyed my hair brown and my hair pulled through red/copper tones. I used this kit in hopes that it would rid my hair of the “shiny penny” color. It darkened the red color to a deeper red tone and faded quickly back to the dreaded copper shade.

I requested my hair to be lighter in the last order and it look lots darker, my hair is dark already I need my hair to look more red not dark.

While I love the color, I don't like the burning sensation on my scalp which occurs for days days after my color as well as I my skin peeled along my hairline and scalp this last time. There is something in your product that does not agree with me. The last time I called in and spoke to my color advisor, she told me not to put the dye on my scalp and to try to avoid it. Really?? Hard to do when this is inevitable. PLEASE CANCEL NOW!! THANK YOU!!

This product is like wax

I followed directions as specified. I jumped into the shower and start rinsing my hair and then my whole body is covered with something sticky/wax like. It was such a horrible experienced. I tried to wash it of my hair and it is still there...it took 45 min to remove it from my body. I ran out of hot water. Horrible, horrible...i want to cry. My body is still feels waxy and I wasn’t able to remove it from my hair. I can only image what this is doing to my shower drain. I’m gonna need a plumber.

This color was perfectly matched and I loved it. However it did not cover my gray as well as a salon color or even drug store box color. I tried to get back on to my account to tell my colorist this but there was no way to send her a message. Disappointed

Habe alles nach Anweisung gemacht. Innerhalb der Einwirkzeit wurde das Haar extrem dunkel.... Oje dachte ich. Nach auswaschen und shamponieren alles ganz gut. Aber bereits beim trocknen sah ich extrem farbunterschiede von Ansatz und Resthaar.... Das geht gar nicht!!!! Bin total enttäuscht.... Kaufe lieber wieder im Fachhandel...

Very disappointedI asked for more mahogany to be added to my color and they didn’t add any its even lessSo I’m not gonna even use the box I was just send I’ve used it twice before and I was unsatisfied. The last two boxes did not have the longevity of the first. Unsure what has changed, but quality is no better than what I can get at the grocery store.

I had canceled my membership due to the fact there wasn't enough dye sent after the 1st time. A couple of months later after constantly getting emails I decided to join again and they only sent 1 bottle rather then the 2 you receive when you 1st start. I have very long hair. Id I would have gotten the 2cd bottle for the 1st time I'd be happy due to the fact I havent colored my hair in months. So now im canceling again. I love the product but needed the initial 2 to begin again

This was very rough on my hair. My hair was so dry and harsh. I think there needs to be a stronger conditioner. I also do not want to continue if this is now $27plus each time rather than the $10.

I’ve used boxed hair colors in the past so I was familiar with the process. I followed the directions and kept it on for the specified time. I think there should be an option & directions to use 1/2 of the solutions as I wasted most of it & tossed it. Within 3 days I could see my greys again - not all of them, but it was definitely noticeable. It wasn’t like I had even washed my hair since I had colored it so there was no reason to have it fade. The system also dried my hair out terribly - it is coarse & dry by nature but it literally looked completely fried even though I put extra smoothing /conditioning product on it before drying.

This custom colour was depicted as being a dark purple. This dye absolutely did not turn out purple, but rather slightly reddened my already dark, red hair.

My hair ended up about two levels darker than what I chose and not in the least but copper either. Following the instructions to start at my roots and let them process first also gave me hot roots. My hair looks and feels terrible.

Das Mischen , anwenden, auftragen war einfach zu händeln.
Der erste Eindruck war genial, zwar etwas zu dunkel, aber hat gefallen.
Bereits nach 2,5 Wochen trat ein deutlicher rötlicher Ton hervor, nach 4 Wochen überwiegt ein rötlich bräunlicher Ton und gefällt mir überhaupt nicht. Das Haar sieht scheckig aus, von der eigentlichen Farbe ist nichts mehr vorhanden. Es sieht einfach nur noch aus wie eine schlechte Tönung. Ich bin enttäuscht.

My color turned out NOTHING like the example pics. It’s a horrible orangey-red color. My roots are a reddish-brown, then the strands are a completely different color. I won’t ever use this service again.

Don’t purchase, Do not purchase from this company once you try it when you try to cancel they will continue to charge you and send you more. Congratulations I had to cancel three different times. They refused to refund or except the product that had been unopened. Total rip off!

Qualität, Verpackung und Versand waren gut. Leider das Farbergebnis nicht (Mittelblond bestellt/Rotblondes Ergebnis). Habe dafür aber anstandslos eine Gutschrift erhalten und werde noch einen Versuch wagen. Die Farbmischung an sich stinkt ziemlich stark nach Ammoniak, die Haare fühlten sich nach dem Färben aber gut an und sind auch nicht kaputt. Ein wenig schwierig gestaltet sich der telefonische Kontakt - sehr schlechte Leitung (vielleicht Feuerland?), allerdings recht freundliche, wenn auch schwer verständliche Mitarbeiterinnen.

I colored my whole head of hair. Roots first and then rest of hair. Still felt it was a little too dark but not bad. Then next day did highlights that really helped.

I am shocked ! The vomit did not cover my hair and now it’s come out completely ! They said sorry!!! And they would send the correct product!!! Till now nothing has come!! I am disgusted !! Every day I call and they keep saying the same thing !!!

Leider bin ich mit dem Ergebnis nicht zu 100 % zufrieden.
Meine Ausgangsfarbe war dunkel blond. Der Ansatz sollte nachgefärbt werden. Leider habe ich einen Rotstich.

Hochwertige Farbe aber leider nicht das gewünschte Farbergebnis

Tolle Verpackung, einfach Anwendung und die Haare sind danach gepflegt und glänzen wie nach einem Friseurbesuch. Das hat mich total begeistert. Leider weicht das Farbergebnis extrem von meinem angegeben Wunsch ab. Ich hatte persönliche Notizen und eine Bild meine aktuellen Haarfarbe hochgeladen um zu erreichen das mir der Stylist die perfekte Farbe formuliert. Trotz dessen, dass ich beschrieben hatte das ich gerne etwas heller werden möchte und einem Rotstich entgegen wirken will, sind sie kaum bis garnicht heller geworden und der Rotstich ist noch intensiver geworden. Eventuell wäre es besser gewesen wenn der Stylist nochmal Kontakt mit mir aufgenommen hätte um mir mitzuteilen, dass mein Farbwunsch nicht erfüllt werden kann und mit mir eine Lösung gefunden hätte bzw. mich einfach vorgewarnt hätte das ich mit einer anderen Farbe rechnen muss.
Schade eigentlich, denn ich bin extrem begeistert von dem Konzept und der Qualität und hätte gerne ein Abo bei eSalon gebucht.
