FabulousI fancied a change of colour, but nothing inspired me from the shop colours and unable to afford salon prices, I thought I would try esalon. Really liked the process of explaining your hair type, colour and previous colourings ( it was exactly like a salon) When my kit came, I was super impressed that my name was on the bottles (nothing is ever mine with 4 kids, but these bottles had my name on) I'm not going to lie, I was apprehensive to try the dye, but the process was pretty easy ( better with 2 pairs of hands) and surprisingly didn't smell as bad as I expected, plus half the time taken to dye as usual. The colour itself is lovely, I have deep brown hair with red and purple lowlights, better than expected, I absolutely love it!! My only criticism would be that there isn't quite enough shampoo and conditioner for long hair. My hair now feels thick and soft. Increasingly disappointed with it day by dayAt first, I thought my color looked good, though overall, it was darker than I wanted. I had strawberry blond with medium brown roots and asked to match the roots and go a bit more copper, but what I got was more of a dark reddish brown, not as bright as I wanted. In the warm overhead lighting of the house, it looked pretty good, so I filled out the survey saying I was satisfied. But then, I was outside in daylight and found myself in front of a mirror where I saw for the first time that my roots were still significantly darker than my hair. In that lighting, it was very noticeable. That really bummed me out. When I mixed the color with the developer I was dubious about how brown the roots color looked. I couldn't see how that color would get my roots light enough to match, and now I know my instincts were right. The more I look at my mismatched roots and ends and the darker color overall, the less I like it. And in daylight, without the warmth of incandescent lighting, the overall color is quite dark. Hair left feeling heavy and greasy lookingAfter only doing a couple of strand tests I was very disappointed the colour left my hair feeling. Great Hair coloringI have only used this esalon hair color product only once but the product it self seems to be great except the anmonia smell that gave me headache while I used it and afterwards. ( So I had to stop my auto shipment.)I normally use non-anmonia product so maybe thats why.
