A little too dark but I'll still use it. It covers grays pretty well. I've got shiny silver coming through and this helps tone it down on my part line. I'll use it up but not sure if I'll continue.

Not the right color

I ordered this a while back expecting to need it but didn’t. Now my gray is starting to come in much quicker between dye jobs and so tried it today. I didn’t realize I received medium brown BR40, although my profile says I should be darkest brunette/black. So now I have strands of light brown (that’s how it looks even though it’s supposed to be medium brown) amidst black hair, but at least the gray is covered, and it’s a good thing that I changed my hair dye formula to add some red. It looks fine but I’m someone who doesn’t worry too much about showing some gray since you’d expect that of someone in their mid-50s, or if people know I color my hair, but I doubt others would want this. I think I should have received the darker color that my profile says I should be.
Having said that, it does feel a bit chalky or like dirty, greasy hair. However, I didn’t apply it right after I shampooed, but the day after, which may play a factor. Again for me it’s OK since it’s only a temporary fix for an evening out and luckily it does not LOOK dirty or greasy. People will be looking at and hopefully not touching my hair! One good thing is you don’t seem to use too much dye to cover, but again that’s for my hair which is straight and fine, not too much gray, and I really don’t know how much dye is still left in the tube. People are busy and may not have that time to dye their hair at their scheduled intervals - I certainly don’t. So I can see that this temporary fix can get expensive at the price point set for this product, especially if you need to use more dye and more often than I do.
Lastly, instructions should state roughly how long to wait for the dye to be dry to the touch before you can brush it out. I kept touching and getting dye on my fingers and reapplying and waiting some more.

I do love it how match perfect with my color and after dry quickly I brush the hair and the hair still suave but don't cover the grays at all and the next day it's should the little grays I try cover so I'm very disappointed and i wish the bottle a little bigger because need put a couple times just for help the little bit. .. so hopefully you guys try make the temporary root touch-up cover the grays better because I do love the color and it's feel nice after dry and comb and I love the bottle with the tools ... love you guys ESALON. ..sorry

Good for temporary cover, better than the mist and the powder, but my color is not showing up any more. Is it discontinued? Very disappointed I’m not able to order it
Update: really upset they only have a dark color now. This is so much better than the spray or powder coverup. Hoping they restock my color, I’ve been watching for months

I love this but it has been out of stock for awhile now. Nothing I’ve tried compares. Can we get an update on this page please? Any idea when it will be in stock? I’m updating this post to let you know that I’ve found a good alternative. Kiss brand quick cover root touch up. The brush is bigger but that’s the only difference I see.

The mascara wand lets me get the color just on my hair, rather than on my scalp, like a spray does. Unfortunately, only black is available. Just like other companies’s version of hair mascara, this is not waterproof, but it does get me through a few days until I color again. Please make this product available in all colors.

The Cameo wand is a great product and the Cameo Mist does not replace it! That is a fallacy in thinking at Esalon. The wand is much more effective, lasts longer and can be more controlled than cameo mist. Also, I've not been able to get the medium brown color for six of the last orders that I have tried to place. This has been frustrating for me, not having this. I have been with eSalon for 10 years and this is the most frustrating last 6 months of all those years. I've had to go to a different company to find temporary color. It would be wonderful if you could remedy this. Thank you.

I do love this wand for the last few days before my color touch up when my greys peak through. The wand can get messy with fly away hairs. I have ruined tops of mine by catching fly aways in the wand and then the longer strands getting wet with dye and staining my clothes so you need to be careful! I also do not like how hard this makes my roots when it dries in. Its like having hair gel in your roots. I kind of wish I could brush afterward so my hair feels smooth like a dry shampoo texture.

I love this wee wand just wish it was a bit bigger for more uses .It covers your greys till your next colour but you have to reapply it as once you wash or brush your hair .I just would love it a bit bigger .Handy to carry in your bag

I rather dye my hair. but whenever I don’t feel like dying it I can always use this wand it’s OK! just not for me it’s too grainy and it leaves my hair too hard it’s just not for me but overall it’s a good product it does stay all day.

Okay in an emergency and between coloring.

I really liked this product, but apparently eSalon is no longer stocking it, and the other colours don't work for my hair - (although today I'm ordering a darker colour anyway because I'm desperate.) I loved this product, but it has not been available I think for close to a year now.

I LOVE all your products, especially the camo spray & the weekly conditioner (smells soooo good) so I figured I'd also love this product. But unfortunately this wasn't the case. I didnt have the easiest time trying to apply it. It's super messy and worse I couldn't get it washed out of my hair. I apply these things mainly to my part & around my face or if I put my hair up then I'll also put it around the edge of my whole head. So I only did my part & after I took a shower this morning & I went to towel off my hair I could still feel the hard spots on my hair where I applied it! It took me washing my hair 3 times for it to come out. Like I said this is the ONLY product I had a problem with.

So I have used the root touch up a few times now. I won't need to purchase more, as I got a second one on the auto ship.
It covers well, but takes a little to get it on and make it look right. It also makes the hair a bit hard, so unless you are washing your hair every day and redoing the color, it does not feel natural.

This is a good temporary root touch-up product. It is a bit messy to use, but does cover gray hair well.
It does make your hair feel a bit stiff and dirty where it is applied. That is typical of most root cover-up products, so is not really a criticism -- just a comment.

I really like this product and appreciate all the colours available. My only issue is that I don’t like the packaging because the way the brush and lid work it’s hard not to get colour all over your fingers.

I don’t know the old version everyone keeps talking about but this one is awful! I had to throw it out. I may have used more than I should have but it left my hair goopy and stiff, dirty and I couldn’t wash it out of my hair. I do NOT recommend it at all !!!

It was ok the brush I thing it didn't do so good may be it could be a ful brush .but it worked when I needed it and I will order again.would like to try eyebrow touch up but it's always out of stock it's ok. Thank you all

This product does exactly what you need to do. The only down side is it can be time consuming, but on the plus side it does not come off on your hands etc like a spray one would.

Like the color, variety of applicators, but I wish the applicators were bigger, so the process is less tedious. If you need to conceal a large area, it takes too much time. I still think powder products are the best for this.

This is the first time I have ever used a product like this. It did the trick, it hid my grays until I was able to dye my hair. One thing it did was leave my hair feeling hard. As if I had put too much hairspray in. Maybe I need to use the little wand brushes on it more.... but other than that little thing It was great.

I loved the idea of quickly being able to cover my roots in a hurry the only problem i had was i have very thick naturally curly hair and when using the mascara type wand it would constantly get caught in my hair .so for most people I'm sure you'll love this product i do i just can't use it with my type of hair.

Beware. This is thinner than mascara so don’t yank the wand out of the bottle nor flick your wrist while applying or moving to a different section. Fortunately, I used this in a hotel the 1st time, so my own countertops weren’t ruined.

The color worked well with my color and covered my grays fairly well too. I wish it was a little more flexible - it feels pretty stiff in my hair, but overall does the trick!

Harder to use than the spray cover, the mascara type little brush tangles very easily, BUT at least I can get it for use between colorings, which is very helpful. The spray cover up has been OUT OF STOCK for a year!

I do a root touch-up about every 5 weeks.....Usually about week 4 my gray roots begin to show - by applying the Temporary Root Touch-up I can cover the gray and wait another week before re-doing my color. I rated it a 4 because it makes my hair feel "stiff" - perhaps, I'm just not getting it "brushed" out good enough. Nevertheless, I recommend it.
